Hard to believe, but when I first put this strap on my new timex expedition watch (the one with the dark blue strap), I absolutely hated it. I got on here and immediately gave it 1 star and a scathing review. Let me walk you through this slow realization that this is in fact, a 5 STAR STRAP for the timex expedition. DISCLAIMER: not yet rated based on durability. I just got the thing.The buckles are very bulky, and if you don't put them in the right positions they tend to bulge out on the side of your wrist (I think I have an average wrist size for a guy - I would give you a dimension that I know off the top of my head but I'm not sure if it has any relation to the size of my wrist so I won't).Anyways, after playing around with the directions of the buckles I actually found that it looks pretty cool to have a little extra size on the buckles. At this point I logged back on to review this strap as 3 stars.To make a long story longer, I originally bought the timex expedition with the brown "leather" strap. I tried canceling the order but it was too late. I was getting two timex expedition watches and I'd have to return one. Little did I know that this mistake would push this average joe 3 star review into a gleaming 5 stars.I got the watch with the brown leather strap. Remember, the same watch. So basically I was able to see how two different style straps looked like on the same watch. The expedition is a small-faced watch. It doesn't pop out at you and honestly, if you have a tame brown leather strap, or even a tame canvas strap, I think it looks too modest.This strap with the bulky buckles makes this watch stand out in the best way. It maximizes the modesty of the timex expedition. Gives a little thickness and ruggedness on the edges that count. "Is that a timex expedition with bulky buckles? What's going on there? Let me mull that one over more than I ever anticipated." That's what people will think a lot. It'll be your friends on a drunk night that finally crack and go, "honestly man, that watch is kinda sick with that black strap".Just get it. It's like 10 bucks.

It's a great strap as it's comfortable and well made. Looks and feels like it should last a long while. Only problem is that the strap is short. I'm on the smaller size of medium wrist, and the strap is barley long enough to fold back through the last loops. But it is workable. Perhaps it'll stretch a smidgen with normal wear. Unless the straps are normally made longer, only use if you have smaller wrists. Likewise with previously said if used as 5 ring zulu. Sure looks like one. If so, only 4 of the rings are actually useful with the tail just reaching the first ring after buckling on. Workable enough so I'll just hold on to it. Overall great strap for quality and comfort just a bit short.

Great strap!I bought a beater Timex Expedition series watch that came with a stiff cloth band. It sucked. The band was stiff and it was extremely diifficult to get the clasp to release.The Ritche Nato band has none of these problems. The band is thinner and more pliable than the original Timex band and the clasp easily releases when you want to take the watch off. I also like the added security that you get from a Nato watch band. With the original band if one pin give way the watch will fall off our wrist potentially never to be seen again. With a Nato band both pins have to be broken for the watch come loose from the band.Would I buy it again? If I ever need another Nato band or simply get tired of the black color I'd definitely purchase another Ritche Nato Strap.

Should be said that this strap doesn’t come with spring bars, I assumed it did, seeing as you would need them to use the strap.

I like the looks and feel of the watchband, but would have liked a little longer band length on the side of the strap that goes into the buckle ( I scuba dive and it is too short to go around my waist when wearing a wetsuit (3mm to 4mm thickness wetsuit. If the tag end of the watchband had more and closer together eye holes in it, I would be able to adjust the fit on the waist better ( As is, it is either too tight or too loose.I brought the watch waistband to replace the original rubber waistband that came with the watch.
