Q: Is the top wood cover washerable?

It has a silicone ring around the bamboo lid. Just hand wash it to be safe.

Q: Will this hold 5 pounds of flour

No. It will not hold 5lbs of flour. Trust me on this. I tested it out. After much research, a 5 lb bag of flour needs a 165 Oz canister if you want it free flowing. If you pack it down you might get away with a 135 Oz glass jar. But not this one.

Q: I need more of the airtight seals?

It’s pretty airtight. It has the rubber plastic underneath but it’s not super tight. Like a food container with the rubber seals. I wouldn’t flip it upside down with stuff inside.

Q: Is this item safe to put in the freezer?

I can’t say for sure. But personally I would not put this canister in the freezer. I feel like the glass is too thin and would crack easily if product inside it expanded during the freezing process.
