Castle Creations Sidewinder SCT Waterproof 1:10TH 12V ESC and 1410-3800KV Motor

Replaced an XL5 setup. and it's not even a comparison you can make between the two, it's faster in every single way, stronger, more punch, more acceleration, more speed, it's incredible. I always knew Castle made good products but I learned yesterday after just a single use, that this is everything I needed in my RC and more. on 2s alone this SCREAMS. I can't imagine what 3s would awake in this monster.It took my car from ~25-27mph on 2s, to a stead 40+mph with no change to gearing or batteries!I was also surprised that the same gearing which made my 12t titan HOT, doesn't even make this motor warm! It's vastly more efficient!If you have a Brushed setup and are thinking about upgrading to brushless, do yourself a favor and pick one of these up, the 1410 motors are ideal for 4x4 and off-road use in light stadium trucks, and their 1405 motors are excellent for high speed cars and light weight 2wd vehicles!Remember, the lower the KV number the more torque but lower top speed the motor can spin, 3800kv is excellent for high torque but still got some speed to blaze a trail in a 4x4 stadium truck. If you want to pick up something to make your car FASTER, but won't accelerate as quickly, get a higher KV setup!Based on much of what I've read, you don't want to use 3s in this setup all the time, or for very long runs, not unless you want it to wear out prematurely.It's a sensored motor with a sensor-less ESC, which is just fine for off road and faster runs. It may be waterproof on the label, but I wouldn't do anything that gets the motor too wet (I'd call it water resistant)

I brought this to replace a brushed motor in a Rustler 4 x 4. This is a great motor especially on 3s the truck is very fast now. I noticed a difference immediately oh, and it is very durable. I was playing with the truck on the street and it actually fell in a sewer, I got it out of the sewer and it's still work perfectly. You have to play around with gearing just to make sure you get everything just right try not to get too hot but that's with any motor. My buddy has a brushless rustler and now my truck is as fast or maybe even faster than his

Works great in my traxxas slash 4x4. But also buy the Rpm mount for the esc. Would gladly run this setup on another vehicle.

I put this kit on a ECX Ruckus that was brushed. This brushless motor made it so much faster and fun to play with. It stayed cool on a 2s battery I have not tried a 3s. You do have to get your own battery connectors for the ESC. You need to take the fan off the ESC to run it in any water. After running it in water it was still fine after almost fully submerging it. Way better than the brushed motor it will even pull wheelies now.

Awesome awesome awesome! Never over heats in my slash 4x4 xl5. No matter what hearing I put in it I can back to back to back runs with 3s and 2s. The on/off switch stopped working but that was probably my fault, I jumped it into a creek on accident lol sat there for maybe 30-40 seconds upside down then pulled it out threw it on the bank and goosed it and she pulled the front wheels for about 25yards haha. So I just cut the on/off switch off and now when I plug a battery in the truck turns on automatically which I don’t mind.

I upgraded and ECX amp Mt with this it is insane fast I have yet to try it on three cell batteries it doesn't need it can't keep the front end down as it is if it is not working correctly for you go in to your local hobby shop and have them adjust the escape for you I had to do that it was reversed as far as 50% for reverse and Full Throttle for forward they were flipped but it is waterproof and it stays cool after running back-to-back batteries four of them actually in a row.

Was going to use it for a slash but stuck it in a 4tec 2.0 instead. 35/55 gears and runs strong on 2s and ballistic on 3s. Highest temp on esc so far has been 121* and the motor stays a few degrees cooler. Cogs a little at crawling speeds, but has lots of torque. No complaints for the money.
