Yes Yes Yes it works with windows 7 and 8 and 8.1 and prior windows as well as with Macs.... DO NOT install the software that originally came with the drive as others have posted it can create issues. All versions of windows XP through 8.1 have all the drivers you need already installed.

I have old maczip files id like to retrieve files from. i currently use a 10.14 macbook pro. will i be able to connect the external drive to this mac?

Yes you can connect this drive to your MacBook pro... (as long as you have a usb port) The drivers are preloaded on you MacBook pro The information from the disks will be able to downloaded as long as the disks are mac formatted and from your description they are. Obviously depending on what is on them you will need the appropriate program to open the files... Let me know if you have any additional questions

The drive works on my Mac 10.10.1 without problem. I have yet to try uploading iomega files. Iomega likely will offer assistance if you have any problem with the upload. Suggest asking them.
