Well, I think I agree with you, although I continue taking them daily. By themselves they are not effective, but I also take a laxative when needed and maybe, just maybe, they soften enough to allow less strain. At least they can't hurt. :>)

Is product vegetarian? Is the gelatin from an animal?

The container does not state that it is vegan but the ingredients appear to be mostly FD&C colors and the gelatin is only printed as such. The bottle does state Gluten Free.

what is the expiration date?

The bottle I bought has the date stamped on the label on the bottle. My bottle says October 2021.

This is the regular docusate (= Colace). This is a perfectly fine alternative to the “name brand” but much cheaper and even less expensive than generics at the pharmacy. Why would anyone buy the identical product which is highly over-priced at the pharmacy?
