Highly anticipated
The second installment of the Hunger Series kicks right where the previous book ended. My anticipation for this installment was through the roof, after reading the first book I no longer held out hope a second was in the making after so many years. But color me surprised when Heat showed up as a recommendation a week or so before it's release date. My expectations was immense and I was not totally let down.Lemme tell you the 360 both characters went through compared to the first book was staggering. We had Autumn self assured, independent, confident if a little...shy I would say. Kain was all encompassing, darkly dangerous, arrogant. Totally opposite of one another but it worked. In this book, Autumn was bitchy, confusing, emotional...even though I knew she had excellent reason for her changes it couldn't help rolling my eyes or being annoyed with her, I wanted the hold Autumn back. Kain on the other hand, his change blew me the hell away, he was sappy, emotional (though I just want it known I don't find emotional men a bad thing) but it was overly done, timid, unsure of himself....again both characters had proper reasons for the changes, but I wanted to throttle both of them.We got a whole lot more information and an idea of where the story is headed but was left with enough not being said to leave some mystery. While the information was a lot, it wasn't a crap load of it, their world is a lot more intricate than we first realized from the first book, for both characters. The secondary characters could have been a little more fleshed out, though we do get a third POV, so there is that. Overall, Christie did a great job moving the story along and not being stagnant on one scene/incident. Although, she does tend to repeat herself throughout the book, small sentences/descriptions, her beta readers should point this out to her.

Glorious second book to a great series
It's so hard to find truly good werewolf novels with substance and both Heat (and the first one Hunger) delivers everything anyone could ever ask for. Slightly humorous with a hint of spice and a whole lot of adventure and action. It leaves you begging for more each and every chapter, no matter what is going on within the pages of this incredible second installment. It's written so well it's seems as if it has a life of its own and in a sense, it seems like you are there within Autumns and Kains world. If you are a fan of werewolves or shifters, love romance and action, fantasy and magic, this is reccomended highly. Christie Goldenwulfe, graciously and generously, brings us into her world and through it we get a real taste of her talent. Just as she is an talented artist, she is also a talented writer, painting a world for us, we never wish to leave.

Cant get enough
In this book she picks up where the last book left off, and fleshes out more of the characters, especially kain, ben and autumn and does a wonderful job letting the story flow and be cohesive instead of some werewolf stories that jump all over the place. This is a great read, it has steamy 🌶🌶🌶 scenes, action scenes, mystical scenes and sappy scenes, very well rounded. I am excited for the next book!

A Feast for the Beast
Fast-paced novel packed with werewolves, sex, magic, blood, gore and horrors. Ranges from cute erotica fantasy to bloody brutality in a pretty satisfactory way. Best lycanthropy lore I have read so far, in a novel. Can't wait to read the next installment.

Fantastic and well worth the wait!
So I have been looking forward to this since first reading Hunger when it came out a few years ago and I wasn't disappointed, my only problem is that I now have to wait for the third book!! I highly recommend this series if you enjoy werewolves, adult content and magic. One thing I do really like is that the places (such as Myers flat) exist in our world so it gives it a very realistic feel alongside the myth and magic which really adds to the enjoyment of a story for me as I can imagine it being real and not just wonderful works of fiction. Very descriptive and wholesome writing you can really indulge in the chapters, as someone has said and so I will point it out, there is a wee bit of repetition of some words/phrases so some diversity could be added in that respect but I wouldn't let it fault the book or the story for me in the slightest. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!! Until then I will just have to dream!
