Good documentary, great Concert DVD.
The included 2 hour documentary on Phil Lynott was good but a little lengthy. It's always to hear commentary from Scott Gorham - he always makes me laugh. Even when questions are asked about touchy subjects, he never casts Phil or the band in a bad light. The truth is, just about every Rock band has had to deal with the pitfalls of the road and Lizzy was no different. Unfortunately Phil got caught up in the dark side of it and somehow Scotty escaped. Enough said about that. The concert DVD IS GREAT! This remaster of the Sydney Opera House concert was much improved. The video quality was tons better, with none of the wavy lines that previously detracted from the previous releases. It is still grainy in spots and the camera man filmed right into the sunlight in a few shots which caused a near whiteout effect but it was brief and not a big deal. Video filming has come a long way since the 70s. Lizzy was on top of their game and the added songs were great to see. Gary Moore's solo, which was cut from the original release was absolutely smoking! That alone made it worth buying. If you are a die hard Lizzy fan, you need to get this collection!

Powerful documentary/Powerful Concert
The documentary is very emotional, with a lot of input from Lynott’s ex-wife and daughters but it would have been nice to hear more from his mother other than a 10 second sound bite. However, the other contributors are excellent, especially his Uncle Peter. The Documentary is very well written and artfully produced. The producers shy away from the inner details of the band’s raging drug abuse and kept the entire film positive. The concert is a huge improvement from decades old recordings. Never as good as Hamersmith show though. I have to admit that this concert starts off a bit offsync but really jells as the show moves on and Phil has the audience in his control. Why wasn’t Me and the Boys not on Live and Dangerous? The finale here is a superb.Overall, Wow! Highly recommended for a TL fans and any real classic rock fan. We’ll-done.

GREAT Scott! What a collection!
The "Songs For While I'm Away" documentary was pretty good. Visually appealing, almost like an art project by the director. Yes, there have been more in-depth docs on Phil/Lizzy, but this time we get to hear from Lynott's daughters, which is very cool. But what's also VERY cool is the addition of a polished-up version of the Sydney concert on DVD/CD. This show has never sounded or looked so good before (as far as i know). I have a VHS tape of this show from the 90s and the audio was... inaudible. Horrible, even. But now? It sounds great! So, even if you're iffy on the documentary, you HAVE to buy this for the improved Sydney concert. Overall, a MUST for the die-hard Lizzy fans out there.

A super, high energy concert with quality audio to boot.
I am not a true Thin Lizzy fan, though am a life long rocker. A customer of mine, mentioned a couple of times how good this Sydney concert was. This made me curious and it really rocks hard and the drummer impressed, and Gary Moore was out of his skin with enthusiasm while performing with some dazzling soloing on a few of the songs.

Ignore Feedback From People Who Don’t Read Description
This is a fantastic and extremely well received set. The Sydney concert is amazing, and considering the age and original source material, it is the best edition released to date by far. This set is well worth the price of admission as it is simply one of the best live representations of the band ever. The audio CD alone outstanding. The item description states Blu-Ray, DVD and CD so there is no false advertising with this. For anyone who complains about that, read the obvious description on the cover before complaining.

Read the descriptions !
I don't feel bad for people expecting Blu-Rays here. Think about it, the source material for the Sydney isn't exactly High-Def !Other than that, its great to have the full show, even though a few songs were less than pristine the makers here were clear in that and left it up to us the viewers to determine if we wanted to watch in proper running order or leave the "bad" ones out. It shows they put some thought into this.

Vale a pena.

Great set
I can understand how there was confusion from some buyers (the fact the stock image shows the documentary as a DVD while the packaging says Blu Ray + DVD + CD is misleading). That being said, the DVD concert sounds great and is easily one of the best Thin Lizzy live concerts officially available. Don't hesitate to pick it up if you're a fan of Thin Lizzy or Gary Moore.
