This turned out to be one of the best purchases I've made on Amazon. I use this almost daily to steam vegetables but I've discovered it's perfect for cooking minute rice, stuffing mix, pasta, to name a few. This makes microwave cooking almost fool proof and is super easy to clean.

Very little water is needed to cook veggies. It is amazing if you are trying to eat healthier and you want to make that easier. It cooked my carrots in 6 minutes... I will be using this everyday after work now!

The bowl is constructed of an ultra-light weight plastic. It microwaves and steams most foods, but it is next to impossible to remove stains, such as leftover spaghetti & sauce or a can of chili. After just a few uses, the inside of the bowl looks like I used a pumice stone to clean it. I think the heat of any microwave and saucy foods is too hard on such a lightweight plastic.
