Must have piece of metal!!!
This is a must for anyone who has the same linkage setup as my 96’ Jeep xj! Changes everything and fixes everything about the original setup. There are some install warnings and changes to no fault of the manufacture of the product, but from Jeep itself. As a Jeep owner I can tell you that when you work on one it’s not just the same old song and dance of routine maintenance, as every nut/bolt/screw/& some parts, is of various and random build bins from whatever they had on hand at the time crossing over various models. This is all addressed in the easy to follow directions and videos are available to give visual aid for clarification. Great product and would highly recommend despite the steep price, but it is worth every penny!

My Number one recommended improvement for jeep cherokee.
So, I have an 1989 jeep cherokee. The 4wd didn't work, so I replaced things as I found failures but I failed to suspect the shift linkage. The stock linkage is garbage and flex between the body/transmission caused by age and worn motor mounts pulls the linkage apart rendering it useless. Don't bother trying to fix or even use the stock linkage, buy and install this simple modification that will make your jeep shift as expected. It is more reliable, robust and well designed than the funky stock linkage. Ot is very easy to install. I didn't really adjust my new linkage upon installation so I sometimes pop out of four low, that is an installer error but shows this product works even missadjusted. don't be like me, take your time to adjust it before it snows again. Snow is cold to lay on.

Easy to install, affordable
I was just about to purchase the Novak shift cable for my 99 Cherokee and I came across the Azzy shift linkage. I noticed it had a 5 star rating I read the reviews and figured what the heck I'll give it a try. The installation was very straight forward the hardest thing was getting the darn rubber bushing out of the shifter handle. After that it simply bolted on. All I had to do was lengthen the assembly slightly and it shifts perfect! What I like about the Azzy system is you don't have to remove any of the old brackets the one on the tunnel and transmission and its a very simple design. The price was right and I would highly recommend it.

Night and day difference
I'm not typically one to buy the hype. I bought this based on having my 4WD pop out once on the trail and forum recommendations. I figured it was a good upgrade, but imagined the difference I would actually feel would likely slight. Wrong. The feel in shifting the transfer case is NIGHT AND DAY. I couldn't believe it. It's SO much more solid. I sat in the Jeep shifting it back and forth for 15 minutes just amazed. Getting rid of that Rube Goldberg machine Chrysler engineered might be the best upgrade I've ever done to my XJ.Some install notes (from my own perspective, of course)...* I have the 5-speed AX-15 and did need to use the version 7 knock out to get the proper alignment and spacing on the shifter link plate. I was dubious it that would be solid, but it very much is. After seeing and feeling it for myself, I have no concerns about it. You can see how it goes in my pics (attached).* Azzy's directions could be (much) better. They're confusing in parts, and I think there's a few typos. For example, one section mentions "2L". There is no 2L. I wasn't sure they meant 2H or 4L. I just winged it though and was fine. I think the directions are written from the perspective of guys who've done this a million times, so they miss or gloss over some bits that those of us who've never done it could benefit from. It's not rocket science though, so just use your head and some critical thinking and you'll be fine.* The t-case link plate does sit at an angle that touches the transfer case. It seems wrong, like it's going to prevent it from going into gear or something. Don't worry though, it's fine.* Getting the nylock nut on the t-case link plate can be difficult due to the proximity to the case itself. You might be tempted to trim a couple millimeters off the bolt. DON'T! You need the enter length due to the jam nut. Just snug up the jam nut and then go in the cab and shift the whole thing to 4H. Plenty of room there then to put on the nylock nut and tighten.* You may not think so at first, but you will need to fine tune the center rod in order to get the proper shift points. Before I fine tuned it I had an issue where if I pulled the lever back all the way to the stop, I was half in neutral and the gears ground (bad). Here's what I did to fine tune... I pulled off the trim from the shift handle and shifted into 4H, making sure the "Part Time" light was ON on the instrument cluster. I then adjusted the center rod on the linkage until the shifter arm/handle was just a hair from the stop tab inside the shifter housing. You can see what I mean in my pics. After adjusting the linkage to push the lever back to that tab while in 4H, it was perfect. All told, this kit is worth every penny in my book. If something changes I absolutely will post an update back here, but I don't expect an issues.

Great upgrade for a jeep!
Off the bat this little linkage was a bit of a fuss to install, my old linkages were rusted together, and with the front drive shaft in the way everything was hard to get at. Took me a decent bit longer to install than i was originally hoping, but in the end that extra bit of time was very worth it. I used to get stuck in 4hi when coming out of 4lo going into 2hi and this thing fixed the issue! Along with that, shifting my transfercase now feels insanely connected and direct. I can feel the gears meshing through the handle and i no longer feel like im forcing the case when shifting. I completely recommend this even if you have no issues with your tc. A very worthwhile purchase.

High quality, needs better directions
High quality product, looks great! I am a pretty proficient amateur mechanic, but it really would have helped to have better instructions on how to adjust it once installation was done. I spent a while grinding 'gears' and tuning to get it right.
