Cellink NEO Battery Pack | A Smart Power Supply for your Dash Cam | Adds up to 24 Hours to Your Blackbox Camera

Technical Specifics of my set-up:1) Blacksys CH200 (firmware version CH_200_3.1.9FW)2) Cellink-B Dashcam Battery (ver 2.0) hardwired via an Add-a-Fuse connector to one of my cars 7v accessory fuse box circuitsI Like:1) I chose the Cellink-B from BlackBoxMyCar to support the Parking Mode feature of the Blacksys-200 2-Channel dashcam I also bought from BlackBoxMyCar. The Cellink-B dashcam battery capacity is currently x2 that of other dashcam batteries.2) The YouTube videos created by BlackBoxMyCar presented very helpful information about the risks of supplying power to a dashcam Parking Mode via a hardwired connection to the car battery via the car fuse box (e.g., shortened car battery life, a no-start situation due to insufficient car battery cranking power during cold winter mornings, etc.). This information helped me decide I needed an external dashcam battery to power Parking Mode.3) The Cellink-B recharges from either a cigarette socket or can be hardwired to an accessory (not powered unless the car engine is running) socket within the car fuse box. I chose the hardwire option.4) The Cellink-B package supplied by BlackBoxMyCar came with an Add-a-fuse connector, making the hardwiring much easier than having to splice wires.5) The recharge time is short.I Don’t Like:1) The battery did not come with a mounting bracket. The package does come with two sets of hook and loop (a.k.a. “Velcro”) fasteners with adhesive on the back. These are to be affixed to the bottom surface of the battery and the opposing loops affixed to some smooth surface inside the car (or car trunk). That would work well for securing the battery to a flat plastic or metal surface but not so great for securing the battery to the finished interior or carpeted floor of a car or truck. Improvement suggestion: Include a clip-on mounting bracket that can be secured to the interior of a vehicle with screws and washers. Alternatively, modify the battery case to include grommets and include zip ties with the battery so that the battery can be affixed to the underside of a passenger seat track.2) The Blacksys CH200 User manual lacks a wiring diagram for the option to install a dashcam powered by the Cellink-B. Having never hardwired a device into my car, I sought the Blackboxmycar.com do-it-yourself videos on YouTube. What I found was helpful to a limited degree. Improvement suggestion: Quoting the old saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words”. The User Manual should include a wiring diagram for 1) cigarette lighter to dashcam, 2) hardwire dashcam to car fuse box, 3) hardwire Cellink-B battery to car fuse box and Cellink-B battery wiring connection to female side cigar connector, female side cigar connector to dashcam male cigar connector and dashcam male cigar connector to dashcam power-in port.3) I don’t understand what these jingle and tone sounds are that the Cellink-B makes at different times. The User Manual isn’t much help as how can one print in words what a sound is like? Even when I do figure out what a given tone might mean, I soon forget their meaning and have to start the learning curve over again. Improvement suggestion: I’d like to see fewer jingles and more audio voice notifications that briefly state the relevant notification information. As a short term alternative, BlackBoxMyCar could produce another of their quality YouTube videos that narrate each of the conditions in which the various tones and jingles occur.

I've had this for about a month and have used it every day in my car. What I really do like about this battery is that it's much smaller than I thought it would be, and it's able to fit quite well with extra room to space in my car's center console arm rest.I use this battery to help keep my dedicated Android Auto "server" in my car powered up, which is a Moto G7 that is rooted and using Sensible Android Auto Xposed (SAAX) to make Android Auto usable by removing Google's restrictions.My car's USB port doesn't provide enough power to the phone to charge it every day and I have the phone mounted in my car which is not easy to remove. When it's about out of power, I simply switch the cable to the Cellink NEO to charge overnight which lasts about four days until the next charge. Because the Android uses a 5V charge, I can get about six or seven full charges out of the Cellink NEO before I have the battery itself, but even that's not an issue. The Cellink NEO charges really quick with the 12V cigarette lighter in my car and it fully charges during my commute to work which isn't very long. So far this setup has worked great for me which is to keep my car's Android powered up at all times so I can access it remotely if I need to, and not worry about power.The only things I did not like was the very short cable to the cigarette connection output on the battery side, and the Bluetooth feels really buggy. I keep getting errors about having to set it up again and again. I have to quit the app's process and restart it just to get the battery's status.Aside from the issues, I rarely look at the battery and it just works. I know this is usually reserved for camera systems, and it's overkill for what I need to use it for, I really do like that the battery is a Lithium-iron (LiFePo4) Samsung. This can better withstand heat from being inside the car, it's really fast charge, and it's a lot more stable than other cheaper Lithium-Ion battery packs I can get.Totally worth it for what I need it for.
