It's a terrific choice for both wide-field and deep space astronomy. In dark skies, you can observe fabulous nebulae, galaxies, binary star systems and most of the famed deep-space Messier objects. You can see the solar flares, sun spots, Rings of Saturn, the Moons of Jupiter, and outstanding detail of the Moon's surface. Plus, this scope comes with outstanding accessories. The high-quality film solar filter fits over the end of your scope and fastens with a thumbscrew. Observe the sun from behind the protection of this .002" filter, which blocks 99.999% of sunlight and has an ND5 rating. This telescope also comes with a medium power 25mm Kellner eyepiece and a high powered 10mm Kellner eyepiece, giving you 16x and 40x magnifications. With a standard 1.25" diameter focusing tube, you can always add additional eyepieces. Images are seen right-side up through a 45-degree angle prism, so this telescope is ready-to-use for daytime earth-bound observing as a spotting scope. This package also comes with a padded, over-the-shoulder carry case. Take it on camping trips, to the beach, to the mountains, overseas, or just stick it in your car "just in case" there's something to see. The mini "Instant Use" tripod fits right inside the carry bag. The telescope mount will fit any standard full-size photographic tripod, as well.
