It cuts deep and opens eyes that today’s kids, like the original Freedom Writers, are hurting. But there’s hope and support that is real and genuine. This book needs to be taught and shared as there is a level of depth and honesty that gives insight to the challenges teens face today. Looking forward to seeing what they do next!

The stories are relevant to teens and things going on in the world right now. But the stories don't stop with the teens' words, they continue with letters of advice to keep going, have hope, and persevere. If you know a teen, teach teens, were once a teen (yes that makes EVERYONE), you should get this book!

The Freedom Writers have done it again. This book truly describes some of the most heart wrenching stories of this generation! There’s so much to learn from these wonderful youth and how they overcome their struggles. The letter and response format of the book created such a powerful narrative.

This is such a moving and powerful book! It is a must read, especially with everything else going on in the world. You learn that some things have not changed from one generation to the next…But the responses from the Freedom Writers show that there is hope and success in the future.
