The interior pot is glazed ceramic. When cooking as directed, I’ve never had anything stick hard in a crockpot, and suspect it would take some serious effort to do that. System failed upon re-entry into the kitched sink form a height of 24 inches. The ceramic bowel failed to maintain it's singularity and crack in two pieces. Otherwise we would still be using the older model. Older model was analog and this one is an upgrade to digital. Was surprised of the price point.
