Master of Solitude
3.5 StarsWhile not as compelling in character or relationship as most of Ms Sinclair's books, for this reader at least, this is still a very satisfying tale of people and community coming together. As an individual couple and as the stars of the story as it were, the MCs did not resonate with me as much as they did within their part of the whole community. In the greater sense, I enjoyed the tale of everyone's soul-search, and the rebirth of a town and its people. The conclusion of the story was, again, satisfying for the community and the cast of characters at large, and at a guess, perhaps the set up for a future book for one or more of the locals. But the wrap up for the MCs was more implicit than explicit, and I just found myself left wondering about them in more than the moment. Not withstanding, it appears there are more tales of Mountain men and Mountain mates to be revealed, and a great community waiting to be part of their lives.

A really great series keeps getting better!!!
Book eight in the Mountain Masters series with Sawyer Ware's story along with Mallory McCabe. I really enjoyed this story about Sawyer who is Atticus's brother who had made a serious mistake which he paid for in prison. Sawyer who can be described as a very good, honest, hardworking, loyal, loving man who because of his past and PSTD made a bad decision one night which ended up being costly for him and others. Sawyer who is definitely a knight in tarnished armor meets up with Mallory McCabe who can be described as a beautiful, loving, loyal, intelligent, hardworking, quirky, peaceful soul who is just what he needs to soothe some of his troubled childhood, Navy Seal days, and prison time. Mallory is well known and loved in the town and those close to her know of her "special skills" which some accept and others are skeptical about. So much happens in this book including the small town being taken over by bad elements because of the local prison, attempted rapes, robberies, drugs, cartel, aryon brotherhood, vigilantes, and so much more. Great read by one of my most favorite authors that I cannot help myself from buying everything she writes because I know I will not be disappointed. As well so many of her books reside in my favorites collection to be read over and over again. This entire series has been so enjoyable and I am hoping for Morgan's story soon.

Hurrah, Another Cherise Sinclair Book!
I will read anything by Cherise Sinclair and no matter what I have sitting in my TBR listing, she will always go right to the top. Her writing just puts me in my happy place and for a few hours, I am in my comfort zone, totally relaxed. Her latest, Master of Solitude, Mountain Masters takes us back to the delicious world of Bear Flats, where we're reminded of Virgil Masterson, Police Detective, the Hunt brothers and Rebecca Hunt, at their famous lodge. From the first page, our interest is sparked over Sawyer Ware, Atticus Ware's brother. Life hasn't treated Sawyer well, considering his military discharge due to wounds suffered in Afghanistan and the resulting bouts of PTSD. Unable to get better, Sawyer spirals out of control and is sentenced to a year in prison for manslaughter, after causing the death of his friend. Now, to make matters worse, after being stabbed during the local prison riot, trying to keep prisoners from attacking women and escaping, he is released and in a world of hurt.Considering his strong bond with Atticus, his plan is to stay in Bear Flats, heal and then relocate to San Francisco. As a cop, Atticus has his hands full ensuring there won't be any trouble with the Neo-Nazi Aryan Hammers, a group just waiting to lash out at Sawyer for the death of a brother during the prison trouble.I love the way Ms. Sinclair “builds” a story and her introduction of Mallory McCabe, creating a woman of great strength and independence, while showing her vulnerabilities in a unique way. As the owner of a construction company, she is competent, professional and respected by the townspeople. Matching her with Sawyer is icing on the cake! I highly recommend this book and again, kudos for hours of reading pleasure!

Good. But too much drama and not enough romance for me
I've read every single Cherise Sinclair book. This one was well written like usual, but the story line felt forced. This one wasn't a favorite of mine. Most of the town spreads false gossip about our hero which makes people treat him like a pariah. He treats himself like a convict and won't pursue the heroine. She has to take his repeated rejections, not understanding his hang ups. Meanwhile, gang activity has picked up and it's more than the police force can handle. So, to protect his police chief brother, our hero becomes the town's vigilante. But of course, no on gossips about that! Can love find a way through all the negativity?Idk, it seems like so much time was spent trying to create the drama that the romance got a little shortchanged. So I'd recommend reading it, but don't expect the candid intimacy and trust building that you'd see in some of her other work.

New York, New York!
So good I read it twice! And will do so again. Possibly one of my favourites (although I love pretty much all this author's work!) by Cherise Sinclair. I thought Mallory and Sawyer were great characters and I loved the way their characters and their relationship developed in line with the story. Mallory is a no nonsense type of person and instead of hiding into herself when he apparently dumps her, she confronts him. No whining or feeling sorry for herself, she meets danger head on even though she detests violence. When Sawyer tries to protect her from danger he's honest with himself about it, you get a real sense of his turmoil. There was a sense of reality about their relationship and how it developed that I was able to identify with, and even though I don't live in that kind of world, their relationship felt real. The content was mostly BD rather than SM which was a nice change and none of the sex was just for the sake of it. This author really showcases the connection and trust between BDSM partners, it goes way beyond the sex and 'playing'. I love the Shadowlands series and the Masters and Mountain series. I've not read the supernatural stuff, really not my thing, but I always look out for new releases by Cherise Sinclair in these two series because I know I'm going to find a well-crafted story that's beautifully told.

Absolutely worth reading!!
Cherise is an automatic buy for me. Sawyer has been mentioned in previous books and he is as character who makes your heart both ache and yearn for him. I'm thrilled that he had such a great woman to comfort and push him! Mal was definitely his equal and they both worked well together. The story had its usual incredible erotic scenes as well as touching moments. It also had a plot including vile gang members who were finally vanquished by the good. I love that Morgan was present a lot and the confrontation brewing between him and his brother will be intense when it happens! Cherise is a brilliant story teller who weaves beautiful tales full of vibrant characters. Can't get enough of her!!

Fantastic read!
Once again I wasn't disappointed with this book, it has more than enough a room to keep me entertained and I also loved the snippets we got to see from characters like Morgan... I'd love to read more about him and Wyatt... Looking forward to the next in the series.

Love it
Love all of Cherise Sinclair books. I can't seem to put her books down. Keep rereading them :) Can't wait for the next one in any of her three series I am hoping that she won't run out of Doms and Subs to set up in her Shadowlands or Masters of Dark Haven.

Cherise Sinclair does not disappoint
I loved Mallory and Sawyers story, it was a little different from the norm as Mallory was a well adjusted, practical, everyday woman with no issues from her past. This made her character refreshing and resulted in interesting interactions with Sawyer. Cherise Sinclair has not disappointed with her latest release and now the wait begins for her next book *pouts*
