## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will your Monster Cassette player play my Android cell phone Mp3 music songs nice and clear, And cassette makes no noise?**
A: It should work with any smart phone. Think of it as your AUX input that is found in most new cars now days. The clarity will depend on the quality of your MP3 and your cassette player. As for the noise, I really cannot comment. I was using this device in a 2004 volvo s60, original equipment and did not experience any noise.

**Q: I got this item recently and after a while everytime i insert the cassette i get this clicking sound and then it immediately ejects, any advice?**
A: I had the same problem it would not be solved by switching to FM a.m. or cassette I hit every button except for my heater and air conditioner haha nothing made it work I tried the CD player and ended up with it laying in the middle of the street would not recommend this product we work okay if you just had a standard cassette player but mine would take the tape in and then pull it down and I even filed a little different channel for the cable to go into where it was clear and not interfere that did nothing good if not for my filing of the channel I would have returned it for my money so my $12 was laying out in the middle of the street and I'm sure some other car ran over to got more the enjoyment I wanted to

**Q: does the cassette fit most cassette players?**
A: Only for cars that have a cassette player were the side flap stays open. If you are trying to use it for a portible cassette palyer it will not work.

**Q: Does this device work with the options for play, skip, etc? Like, can I open Pandora on my plugged in phone and skip/pause songs from the dashboard?**
A: Unfortunately I do not have a dashboard that can do that since its a 99 Honda Accord. It plays as a tape for me and I control it from my phone, I set it to the car mode in all of those music apps on my phone. Hope that helps you.

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Only one issue
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 30, 2014*

This adapter is quite good, when it is seated properly. My tape deck has the tendency to start playback by moving the cassette just enough to cause the heads to go out of alignment (almost every time I start the car). If I put my finger on the top edge of the adapter and pull towards me and to the left, it will usually fix the issue, sometimes I have to wiggle it more. Otherwise, it sounds like a bad tape at best, a bad speaker system at worst. When it is working properly though, it sounds almost as good as a CD, with more background noise. I have my Sansa Clip mp3 player set to about half volume and I can get pretty loud without too much noise. I have to adjust the bass to full and leave the treble at about half to fully enjoy the sound, but it works. I should point out that I had Dolby NR on at first (less noise but horrible quality) and turned it off with much better results. I don't know if this is more an issue with decks or with the iMonster adapter (likely the size of the sensor on the head), but once it is working, it is easily better than other adapters I have tried. Hopefully, my suggestion will work for most. I have to be careful when I stick my finger in not to get it caught, but it sounds better than what I WAS doing which was running my Sansa Clip through PC speakers on a 12v inverter (not nearly as loud and hard to keep the speakers from sliding around). My car requires removing half the dashboard just to replace the stereo, so this option is plenty good enough for me.The cord is pretty good size for an adapter compared with others, but not as thick as the typical cord you would buy to connect an mp3 player to an aux input. It is 3 feet long, which is good for putting the mp3 player on the passenger seat, not quite long enough for back-seaters. I did notice the clicky-clacky noise that others have mentioned, but can only hear it when parked and no music is playing. Unless you're listening to a lecture in a parked car, I'm sure it won't be noticeable, but if it is, just look at the customer pics that show how to remove the gears (you'll need a small phillips-head screwdriver).

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works beautifully in my '98 BMW
*by on Reviewed in the United States March 27, 2014*

If you're still an owner of a car with a tape deck without bluetooth, this is the easiest solution. For the better part of a decade I used one of the original Monster cassette adapters which worked beautifully. I found it much better than using one of the FM transmitters, which I've never been impressed with. After about 8.5 years of use, my original Monster Car Play adapter bit the dust -- but this was entirely from my abuse -- I wound up fraying the cord near the connector from putting undue strain on it accidentally.Anyways, enter the newer version. This one works identically to my old one, which in my given tape deck is extremely well. Coupled with my iPhone, Spotify Premium, and this tape adapter the old sound system in my late 90's BMW sounds very clear and crisp, without any unexpected amplification or attenuation of anywhere along the frequency spectrum. I've had previous tape deck adapters that somehow managed to erase all the bass, or the treble, or a combination of somewhere in between.A few improvement to this one vs. the old model:- The audio connector is reinforced and no longer at a right angle. I this this is a HUGE improvement, as the only thing on this that has the potential to break is the cord. Given that most of the cord strain occurs at the plug, I think this should go a long way to ameliorate these issues.- The "gears" on this one turn, and are quiet. My old one had gotten noisy. A few reviewers made comments that this thing made a lot of noise while it was turning inside the tape deck. Given that this is essentially just for show, you can crack open the plastic case and take out the little plastic gears -- the sound transfer apparatus has no moving parts and is therefore quiet.Cons:- None to speak of. A few other reviewers have noted problems with their unit. I would guess it is more just an incompatibility between this unit and their car tape decks.Highly recommended, especially for the price.

### ⭐ What a Joke
*by on Reviewed in the United States January 9, 2010*

I've used so many tape adapters and all of them have been junk, until one day I bought the Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter (just the regular one, not the 800 which is the one I'm reviewing here). You can find what I'm talking about here: [...]I was so happy to finally have a tape adapter that actually sounded GOOD. Sure, the thing started clicking after a year, but they all seem to do that, and it's easily drowned out with music. Then, recently, after using it for probably a good 3-4 years, the cord got pulled weird and it tore a little. So, I went in search to purchase another one, and came across this new Monster iCarPlay Cassette Adapter 800. It's like $5 more than my old one, but it seemed like it might be a better product.I just received it today, and wow. What a disappointment. It's no better than the $10 Belkin tape adapter. "Tingy" sound, low bass, and all mids. It doesn't make clicking noises, but it sounds so @#%&ing mediocre. I figured since it's the most expensive tape adapter I've come across, it might possibly be even better than my old one, but this is not so. So stay away from this thing. Get the regular Monster iCarPlay tape adapter (again, not the 800), since it'll at least sound the best. Remember, they're ALL going to making clicking noises after a while. Trust me on this, so you might as well get the one that sounds the best.
