Does The Job
I am far from skilled in arts and crafts so I knew I would have a hard time as i have an imperfect arch. The front of the house faces west and the heat from the sun in Florida is just one of the reasons I dislike DST. When you look at the picture please note that the shade actually needs to go back a bit and I will get to that sometime. But for now it is helping to block the sun and reduce house heat. They provide clear directions.

Good purchase
I bought this to replace a presumably, 20-year-old version of a similar shade. The old one was dingy and dusty, and we wanted one that would block more light and insulate the window because the window itโs in gets a ton of light during the day and the room gets very warm. And frankly we need all of our windows replaced as well. So this shade is sort of reflective on one side, so we have that facing outward to repel sun rays and it seems to be working really well especially in tandem with the blackout curtain. We got to keep the room nice and cool. It was pretty easy to install. I was able to cut it to size just with the box cutter very easily. Our original purchase did not come with the little plastic thingy that you need in the center of the arch. It just was not included in the box. But after speaking with Amazon customer support, they just sent me a second one so it all worked out. I really only needed the little plastic piece but they were unable to send me just the little plastic piece so now I have a back up shade. We tried to use the existing plastic piece that we had from the old shade, but it was too thin. But it all worked out!

Inexpensive and effective
If you want an inexpensive solution to a south-facing half moon window, this is it! It's cheaply made, but you can't tell unless you're close up - which would be unlikely since these windows are usually high above the regular windows. It has made a significant difference in the temperature of the room during the hot Texas summer. While it blocks the sunlight, it isn't completely opaque so it still looks pretty. I was concerned about using my expensive chef's knife but it didn't seem to harm it -- I just sharpened it before and after. It would have been better if I was stronger so I could have cut straight down to the bottom but I had to turn it on the side to finish cutting. This made the cut less than perfect, but don't worry, you can't tell once it's up. In hindsight, it could have been that the blade got dull at 3/4 of the way and probably should have tried re-sharpening. But it turned out fine anyway so no complaints.

Pretty shade, blocks light wonderfully!
Our TV has a glossy screen, and this shade works way better than our blinds at blocking the light! Quality: Good. It's not real thick, but it does block the light, as indicated in description! Installation: Fairly simple...just took a couple extra steps. It was a little tough to get it to fit perfectly, but this is NOT the fault of the manufacturer, in my opinion....it's due to the irregular finishing of the window itself by the home builder. I measured the window, cut down the entire piece with a razor, then placed it, open, in the window. Then I marked where it was still not fitting properly and carefully trimmed the necessary areas by hand (with scissors) while still open - until it fit. When it's closed, the trimmed edge is irregular, but nobody sees that anyway. I used Velcro to place it instead of the adhesive, to make it easy to fold closed or take down when we feel like it. I purposely purchased a color that would complement the outside of our home since our half moon window faces the front yard, and our living room walls are white. So I actually have it placed backwards, but it works better in our case. My photos include one from the outside, one inside with lights off, one inside with lights on.

Plastic not fabric!
East to install and cut. Blocks light. 3 stars because advertising as fabric but mine is shiny plastic!!! Not happy about that but in 90 temps direct sun was desperate to block window so keeping it up for time being. Also our arch window is 70โ wide -so top heavy -and was falling into room -so had to use double side tape to keep it up. Maybe allowing extra 1/2โ so touches frame of window may have been better. Not a cellular shade so very little structure to this shade but it does the job.

Inexpensive but works really, really well!
I bought this shade to install in a guest room. We really didn't care about the color or texture; it just needed to block the light in a room that's rarely ever used. I installed it and sure enough, it looks GREAT! The only issue I had was cutting it. I tried being "smart" and using my chop saw that I use for wood trim. That was a disaster. I still have pieces of the shade stuck in the saw. Don't do that. I ended up using a sharp bread knife and it did a perfect job. I did make a few practice cuts first, and the final cut looked really good. My window isn't totally perfect, so there's about an 1/8" gap at the top of the window, but it fits perfectly at the bottom and that's what counts. Overall, I'm exceedingly pleased and will happily recommend this shade to friends.

BUYER BEWARE !
i cant go lower than 1 star, if i could i would. this shade is very well priced, easy to install, but if its pitch black outside, it looks great, but once the sun hits it it turns blue. i have a white faux shade below it, and light brown walls in the room it was installed in, and during the day seeing a blue shade against all the surrounding colors in the room, it looks past ridiculous ! the seller made no mention in the description or the shade turning blue when the sun hits it, i will definately be returning! (however, after close inspection one side of this shade looks like white fabric, but if you turn it around, it looks like a light bluish plastic, i think the bluish part is supposed to be installed facin to the back, although the manufacturer makes no mention of this in the install instructions )

Easy to install and reduces the light by at least 50%
Installation was simple enough. Unfortunately my arch was imperfect. At 90 degrees it was a little shorter than at 0 and 180. Instructions said to draw with a pen or pencil after putting it up temporarily but I felt this was too hard. Instead I took the measurements and cut a notch in a V shape at the end. The measuring tape works really well and can be trusted. I used a chefโs knife and a serrated bread knife to do the job on a clean cutting board. I put the shiny side facing in but I wish the instructions made clear which is better for reducing light and heat. I hope I chose right. For the price Iโm glad this worked so well.

works perfectly
it was easy to cut to size. I added an aluminum flat to both sides (using the sticky tape) which meant I could sit it in place, opened out, and it stays there. I can close the fan and take it down to clean the window. Win win.
