Great and amazing to follow how the author bring all ends together. Recommend for reading. God is the Almighty and loves His creation with all His children .

Very disingenuous approach to reaching lost people.
This story centers around Pastor Ellison and his witnessing to the world. Yes, Christians should be un-afraid to encounter and engage hookers, prostitutes and drunks. More important than this, is to show genuine LOVE to them. Pastor Ellison’s approach was so offensive to me and more about making a “convert” and proselytizing than about demonstrating genuine love for another person.Ellison walks into the FRONT of a strip club and orders a shot of patron and pays a stripper $20 for 3 minutes of her time. Then he announces he doesn’t want her to strip he wants to pay her for her to listen to him talk about Jesus. This isn’t loving someone, it’s proselyting them. I have read inspiring stories of WOMEN (not men) who meet with strippers IN THE BACK of the club for prayer, serving food between shifts, doing their makeup, asking them how they’re doing, listening to their challenges… they genuinely love and build friendships. A male on his own arbitrarily targeting one female stripper in the front where all the stripping is happening and trying to buy her time tell her about Jesus is so incredibly repulsive despite what I assume was a well-meaning intent. A man flying solo should not be trying to build relationships with single females in the sex industry in their place of business.Pastor Ellison does the same thing with a hooker. He picks her up on a corner, tells her “I have a room at the 4 Seasons,” offers to drive her there and pay her for the whole night. Stop there. Not one mention of his secret stealthy faith attempt. People in the sex industry have real trust issues with men. Abuse runs rampant and yet in both scenarios, he propositions a female like all of the other men in her industry do. Of course these women would distrust him, be skeptical and wait for the “string attached.” I would never tell my son or husband to do this. It’s confusing, disingenuous, and opens the door for real temptation. He's preaching the gospel all right and it sounds a lot like a noisy gong.Pastor Ellison brags and names all the misfits he’s helped (those raped, abused children, abandoned men, suicidal teens, drug addicts, sex addicts, manic depressives…many more listed). Nope! Humility not his virtue. He sends mixed messages mixed with words used that are borderline manipulative. Calls the prostitute “beautiful” although he isn't after sex? He carelessly tells a complete stranger in a jail cell "I love you" (when there was not time to know her at all and he's a married man). But as long as the phrase sounds good and helps booster his following "God loves you" it can fly.Pastor Ellison and I are on the same side yet I would caution anyone to go after people with such a disingenuous approach. I must have missed the passages in scripture where Jesus offered money for people to listen to Him speak…

We are His people.
Really enjoyed this book!!Faith. How do we get more? We have to keep our eyes open and truly look for what God is doing. It's there if we are open to it.I hope that many Christians will read this and be inspired to seek God, and to pray both for individuals and the country. Only by personal revival in the hearts of God's people will allow for God to heal our land. Repent and call upon God.Are you spending more money on dog food then on supporting foreign missionaries? Are you spending hours watching tv and using social media, with only minutes spent with God and His Word? Are you sampling all this world has to offer with little taste for the things of God?We MUST turn our hearts and minds back to the God who made us, and seek His face. Perhaps then He will hear from heaven and heal our land.Me he richly bless you as you seek Him first, above all else.Be the people of God; His holy Bride

Delivers a surprisingly riveting story
I admit...I hesitated to grab this one. As a devout Christian, I can surely appreciate a solid Christian novel...but at the same time, I feel like most "Christian fiction" is too soft, formulaic, predictable, and too preachy. Novels should be about STORY and not preaching. In my opinion. That said, I felt like Mead Mountain does a great job sticking to a coherent story that is driven by a strong, believable cast of characters. It keeps you wondering and guessing until the end, which is a mark of a well-written novel.Mead Mountain does not shy away from a number of adult themes, which I appreciated. Honestly, the first five pages do not read like a Christian novel at all. But then readers are greeted with their first surprise/twist. Point is, prospective readers should not let the opening pages scare them. It's all for a reason. All in all, it's a solid and highly-recommended read. Definitely the best Christian fiction I have read in years.

The Mountain and I
Once I began reading, I could not put it down. I found it to be well written, characters well developed and the subject matter gripping. What would I or what could I do in similar situation? Would I approach strangers in less than favorable circumstances, or would I look away? What have I done in past days? Yes,I think I have the discernment to listen to what I think the Lord is saying to me. However would My faith attempt this, or would I be one who thinks someone I previously admired has lost it and gone off the deep end? Would I be ashamed to remain a faithful disciple; Would my admiration and faith hold firm? Would/Could I follow through with what I think the Lord commands me? Am I a person of Faith, or do I project just a charming empty shell? What/ who am I truly? Is my life a fruit producing life? A work of fiction, yes, but a life-changing book.

This was a wonderful debut book by B
This was a wonderful debut book by B.K. Dell. I was totally inspired by it and I'm incorporating the many lessons this book has into my daily life. I particularly liked the idea that the character Pastor Ellison used in regards to the empty seats in his church and how they represented the seats waiting to be filled by the people in his community like the prostitute, alcoholic, depressed, oppressed, wife abuser, etc.. And also the disheartened. Lately I have been struggling getting myself to church. Now I see that empty seat in my church waiting for me to fill it. It helps motivate me. This is what the author's intent was, to motivate and inspire the people who read his book. I am Looking forward to other books by this author. Great book, you will not be disappointed.

Unusual, but interesting read
Not what you would ordinarily expect! This book got me thinking about faith and now we say we have faith but may not actually be living as if we believe. A good story, well written and worth reading. Well done !
