Relatable and Enjoyable Read
This book kept my interest and intrigue and was very relatable for me because of the time period and the eastern NC setting. The book addresses the social issues of that time and place especially in a rural small town where everyone knew each other and each other's business. It was a familiar and understandable story of how everyone in that small community connected and intertwined even amongst racial injustice and gender inequality. I could feel myself living as Dee Ann Bulluck as a young wife of a young banker in the early years of marriage with little disposable income and a yearning to be her own person in a society that diminishes a woman's place in the working world. It was easy to feel myself disappointed in the town people's immoral actions and an obsession of solving the mysterious murder of the "town's two-timing, drug-dealing playboy", especially to be able obtain the $10,000 reward that would lead to the arrest and would make a nice nest egg for a young just starting out family. This is a page-turner story that will hold a reader's interest and make one look forward to the next Patsy Pridgen book!

Cozy Mystery Delight
I am avid reader of cozy mysteries and usually enjoy cozy mysteries that involve cats or running a shop but Ms. Dee Ann Meets Murder exceeded my expectations. Just like most cozy reads, this mystery is fun but the book gives you lots of back stories and interesting characters to get to know. Very 'Murder She Wrote'! It was great to read about the 1970's and get a feel for what life was like in the South all while weaving in a mystery. If you like historical fiction and cozy mysteries, you will love this book!

A Who Done It That Was Not Who I Thought Done It!
I bought this novel because it is a local writer, I know her grandchildren, and I like to support local people - artists, business, etc. I was very pleased. This book did not slow down - most books have a slow point. None in this one. Bad point - I finished it in one day. I am very bad about doing this. Now I miss the characters. Mrs. Patsy, start the next one! By the way, the person I thought did it, did not! Quite the surprise, I must say!

loved it!
was really good, made me think some of me, cause we moved from virginia to small town innorth carolina. and how things are different from the big towns I lived in. Dee is a sweet and honest girl, with awesome husband, and gorgeous baby Heather. she makes friends when she starts working. she is hoping to solve the murder in town to win the 10,000 dollars. She meets nice folks as well as snuby folks! was a really good book, with some good life lessons❤️❤️❤️ready for the next one Patsy❤️

Great book that will hold your interest throughout.
Great book! It held my attention throughout the book. I cared about the characters and wanted to continue hearing about them. (I look forward to a sequel.) The author did a great job capturing eastern North Carolina in the late 1970’s. The mystery kept me intrigued. I highly recommend this book!

Murder and Sweet Tea Do Mix
What a great “cozy” read! I enjoyed and definitely related to the spunk and determined attitude of a late ‘70’s young Southern woman. The characters and storyline were all well developed and interesting. It is a fun “whodunnit” that will keep you entertained and intrigued. Murder mixed with a little sweet tea and pound cake is always easy to digest. I am looking forward to the sequel. It is always a treat to discover a new Southern woman author.
