Trigger Happy
Rating was between 3-4, but closer to 4 sooo, I went with that. Ok now if you have any triggers, any at all, this book got it. So beware, check first. Personally I loved the idea that both main characters were so flawed. The plot of the story is still in formation, but we do know Seth is not cut out to be a Don. However his half brother Dom certainly is. Guess who gets the job? And oh there's kidnappings, torture, deprivation, humiliation, incestuous sex, hate sex, anger sex, need sex, three way sex (MMM), anonymous sex. Oh and did I mention there's sex? Scorching hot, mind melting sex! My kind of book. Can't wait to read book 2!

A Nice Change
The characters of this story are incredible. Seth and Domenico are so different than other mafia men, they’re the heart and soul of this world and I can’t wait to read Book 2!

Darkly Erotic Mafia Romance
“Should I hang myself on a hook? Cause I feel like a piece of meat.”Conflict, drama and sex. Could there be a better combination? For me, it was perfect! This series had a lot of conflicting views so I was on the fence initially, but I really love a good enemies-to-lovers plot. Guns N’ Boys: He is Poison was fascinating, entertaining, and super sexy!Seth Villani escapes his mafia family to make a new life for himself in the United States. It doesn’t go according to plan when he’s captured and drawn back into the fold. This guy is not mafia material in any way, and I loved him all the more for it. Yes, sometimes Seth was a tad whiny. Personally, I didn’t mind it.Then Domenico Acerbi comes in to save him. Irony, because he is Seth’s childhood nemesis. Domenico even tried to kill Seth once. Only the little boy is a man now--one dressed to the nines in a classy suit with an edge of stealth and danger to him. And he just smells so good. Seth has an obsession with this guy’s scent. Someone needs to bottle it, asap!Seth’s life changes when his father--the current mafia Don--appoints Seth the future Don. A massive surprise for everyone, especially Domenico. Where Seth’s soft and naive, Domenico’s hard and worldly. To say they don’t vibe at first is an understatement. Quite honestly, Dom doesn’t respect Seth in the least. I got frustrated with how often Dom calls Seth a baby or a woman. The ill will is on both sides.Regardless of any personal feelings, the chemistry is alive and kicking. The sexual need is out of this world! Seth has to keep his preferences for men quiet due to his family, but Domenic truly doesn’t care. He is who he is and goes after what he wants. That happens to be Seth. Throw in submission and their dynamics skyrocket.I’ve never read a book by this author, but I saw many reviews talking about the heat level, and Guns N’ Boys brought it! While the mafia action was low, the conflict between these two stubborn men more than made up for it. I couldn’t stop reading. I can’t remember the last time I growled when I had to put down a book. Now, I feel compelled to point out a particular taboo revealed in this story as well. If I had known beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have picked it up. (Which would have been a shame, actually, since I ended up loving it!)**SPOILER BELOW**Seth and Domenico are half-brothers. This isn’t a particular taboo I enjoy. I thought of them as stepbrothers and continued on my way. No regrets for this girl!**END SPOILER**This book was such a thrill to read! Domenico and Seth’s story continues on so there’s a slight cliffhanger. I’m ready to see what will happen next. There’s no telling with how hot these men burn up the pages!

Mafia Rom-Com
I read the sample first and was unsure of whether I should continue, since the writing style and certain aspects of the story weren't something I would normally read, but I was curious enough to press the 'buy now' button, giving it a chance to grow on me. And I'm happy I gave it a chance, because I ended up liking it very much. So much so that I bought the next book as soon as I'd finished. Why did I do that? I found the characters endearing, which is not something one should say about mafia men, especially Domenico. But Seth certainly deserves that title. He was far from a hardened mafia man. He may have the sexy, tough-man's body, but he was a giant mellow puff, so soft I found him adorable. I must admit at first, I was going WTF? with his character. A grown man acting like he did? He was such a wimp, who was prone to tantrums and sticking his big lip out. His behaviour threw me off at first, but as I read more about him, I actually came to like his idiosyncrasies. I have NEVER read a mafia book with a character like him. He was definitely original. However, Domenico was more of the typical mafia man, a killer, and in his case, I really sexy one. I liked how he interacted with Seth, liked how he protected the big baby, lol. Plus, I love the images of him on the covers. HOT! Not to mention, his and Seth's interactions with Silvio from the Dark Soul series was certainly an added bonus. Sparado was great in this. But when isn't he great? NEVER.However, I did not find this book dark at all. Others might think so, but my definition of dark doesn't usually match up with everyone else's. To me, this was more of a Mafia Rom-Com with a few deaths thrown in to make you remember it's not a Hugh Grant film. Dark to me is THE FLESH CARTEL. I have to cringe away from the pages to find something dark, and there was nothing to cringe away from in GUNS N' BOYS. But that doesn't detract from the story, because I did enjoy it. And maybe the next book will start to show a darker shade of mafia. Probably not, but either way, I'm very happy to find a new series I like. So, onto book two...Tags: Mafia, M/M, Sicilian.

This was different ☺️
I actually wanted to DNF a couple of times, this isn’t my cup of tea the Dom’s character made me want to see what will happen next and I got to say I actually enjoyed the last chapter more than the whole book and now I want to know more about Silvio 😂🤭I’ll continue with the series but slowly 🤭, let me go look for Silvio now I love me some silk 😜 I hope it’s there 🤭🙈

I didn’t love it
This is my fourth attempt at reading this book. Why not just give up.I’m constantly seeing brilliant reviews for it and most of my friends have loved it. So I decided this time I was going to stick it out and actually finish it.I feel like I’m swimming against the tide a bit here because honestly I just couldn’t see what all the fuss was about. It’s a hot read, a really hot read and I was intrigued by Domenico. I was also interested in the story. But I felt the story got lost at times under all the sex. I know, I know you can’t believe I’m complaining about two hot guys having loads of hot sex.I just felt it overshadowed everything else. And then there’s Seth. All my problems revolve around Seth. I couldn’t stand him, at all. I mean let’s face it he’s so shallow there’s no danger of even a young child drowning in him. There’s many things I love about M/M books but it wasn’t until I read this that I realised one of them was the lack of the stupid female. So many M/F books are spoilt by the inability of some authors to write a decent female character. You know the kind I mean or if you don’t read M/F then maybe you don’t. It’s the ones that are so stupid it’s a wonder they can dress themselves, they’re shallow make stupid mistakes and annoy the hell out of me.That Seth to a tee.I wondered at one point if I was being too hard on him and then came the Silvio incident and I thought no I’m not.I would imagine (and hope) that he grows up and becomes less annoyingly stupid and childish as the series continues. I’m intrigued by Domenico and where the story is going so I’m not ruling out continuing this at some point but for now I’ve had my fill of Seth.

Absolutely brilliant......
I have read quite a few of the authors more mainstream books so assumed I would get stuck into this straight away. Unfortunately I was wrong. I really struggled with the first chapter or so until it sort of hit me. At which point I realised the scene had been set and I had been sucked it and all I could do was hold on for the ride. The ride, by the way, was amazing. I kept thinking something was going to happen and split up the main MCs but it became clear that despite the world they lived in and the life they led, you could feel their emotions and the dislike turning to ....... (No spoilers!).Suffice to say Seth and Dom really grew on me. I read in someone else's review that they got under the readers skin and it's true. In fact, that's the best way to describe them, their world and their relationship. It felt like it became a part of me, or me them but it was amazing.I would definitely recommend this book and personally can't wait to get started on book 2. I will add though that this is raw and dark and at times just plain crude, which was fine by me but what it says in the book overview is true. Brilliant as it is dont read it if you get upset or offended easily cos you won't enjoy it and probably won't finish it. If this is the case and you consequently leave a bad review, it would be such a shame as this is 5* all the way and deserves more not less praise.I hope you do give it a go and enjoy it as I did cos it is really worth it and I think K&A did a fantastic job. The only thing I might say to them is that, I'm glad I don't have their imagination cos although it is off the charts hot hot hot, it is also scarily dark at times!Quick note to the authors and their support team. There are a number of writing/typing errors which should have been picked up during proofing. Not enough in quantity or bad enough in quality to spoil my enjoyment of the book and I'm a stickler for quality issues but, it would be overall a more polished package if they are resolved.Enjoy xxx

fantastic, dark & mind-bending
so first off, i'm not usually a fan of Mafia settings in books. I read this because i'm a big fan of Merikan's work, and had to give this a go. and boy am i glad that i did!warning! if you are not a fan of M/M romance, explicit sex scenes and some really dark mafia themes, this book isn't for you. if you are a fan of all these, why haven't you read this yet?Seth and Dom are two fantastic characters, unique in themselves and weirdly well suited to one another.Seth is to become the next head of the Family, his brother, for some unknown reason, having been passed over for the position. But Seth just isn't ready for it, having avoided most of the Family business for several years, and basically hiding out with his boyfriend. but when he is kidnapped, he is pulled back into the world and forced to take up his role. He's wholly unprepared, and so Dom, a favourite of the Family and a sort of childhood friend of Seth, is tasked with training him up. Of course, Dom cannot keep his hands off of Seth, and Seth reluctantly ends up letting him have his way. repeatedly.the main aspect of this book is the incredibly well-written sex scenes. Merikan is just the best m/m author when such things are concerned. however, the dark story of Seth's training and Dom's heartless reactions to what they must do weaves a great story to follow through this book and presumably into the books beyond. the story perhaps falls by the wayside a tad, but at the same time, it's always there, and important to the book.the characters themselves are pretty dark. unlike most stories, they are not pure and not the 'good guys'. Dom especially has done some terrible things and seems pretty calm when breaking someone's neck. Seth is slow to accept this world, and even towards the end is still struggling greatly with what he is meant to be doing for the Family.Your reaction is to love the characters, they are well-written and obviously the stars of the book. but as you read you constantly get the reminder that actually, these aren't such good guys. they ARE, after all, members of the Mafia, and they are doing some very dark, cruel things. the book is a bit of a mind-bender, constantly causing you to fight with your own brain as to what is 'good' in this world.overall, it's brilliant. I finished this book and purchased the second right away. well worth a read!

LOVED IT
I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this....in fact I didn't want it to end!!!So here's the quick and dirty low down...Seth Villani, had never wanted to be part of the lifestyle his family lived back in Italy. He had made a life for himself with his boyfriend of two years in America.Until he is held captive and tortured by a Triad syndicate. His father 'The Don' Dino Valliani one of Italy's most notorious Mafia family's sends in......Domenico- Assassin/Bodyguard for the Villani Family, he negotiates Seth's release and has to return him safely back to Italy to 'The Don'.Once returned, back in Italy Seth finds himself thrust back into a world he never thought he really belonged too. Domenico is given the job to train Seth and keep him alive!!So what did I think of these characters....Yes Seth was a Whiny Bitch *snickers*.....a Frickin Hot Italian Whiny Bitch.....but I didn't blame him sometimes!!! You would if you had your ~#//~~##-* chopped off as well!!!!For me, it only made me love him more!!!And Domenico.....phew where do you want me to start *wipes drool from face* the suave killer!!!I snickered the whole way through this book, it really tickled my fancy!! I can't wait to see what happens next.....Highly Recommend

Brilliant first book in the series which promises to be a favourite
I really enjoyed this book I like Seth and am slowly warming to dom. It's action packed and full of intrigue which I'm looking forward to finding out more in this den of vipers. Only reason it wasn't a five is because of the finger issue if I'd had my finger cut off, clothes and how handsome someone is would not even be remotely on my mind so I thought that was a little unrealistic and also after the funeral of Seth's mum I thought was not such a natural reaction but apart from that it was a fine read and I'm looking forward to the next.
