Silpat is a terrific innovation. Parchment is great, but scorches. Silpat lasts. NOTHING sticks.
Nothing sticks. NOTHING. Those impossible toffee cookies that you can never get off the cookie sheet without ripping them to shreds? Slide off beautifully. Those parmesan crisps that cling like they've been welded to your pans? Perfectly intact and magazine cover-ready. These mats are simple to use and work perfectly every time. Double check the size pan for correct fit and you'll be fine. I have several of them in half sheet and quarter sheet (for my Breville toaster oven). Cleaning is easy with soap and HOT water; you can also place in dishwasher. Because they are silicone, they are lipophilic and attract fat and therefore feel greasy even when they have been cleaned. You can fix this by wiping down with a dry paper towel after they have air dried.

Yes, SILPAT is more expensive than other offerings; after time you'll see the difference in the quality.SILPAT is thicker than other brands and stands to the test of time. In side-by-side comparisons, the BASICS on the surface appears to be the same; it's not as thick or durable as SILPAT.I rarely use parchment paper anymore for flat baking and clean up is easy.

I mostly use this unit for baking cookies. It works very well and I’m sure it is nontoxic.

I use these on my sheet pans all the time. Nothing sticks, and you are not cooking right on the aluminum. These are fantastic! If you got sheet pans, you need these.

Terrific Small Silpat
I bought this set to use in my air fryer for easier clean up and it's just great. I also made a small batch of candied nuts and set them on the Silpat to cool. They didn't get stuck at all. Oils can be hard to rinse offf the Silpat, so I just put in the top drawer of my dish washer. Great product!
