Good toy instrument for a 3-5 year old
I was very impressed with this as far as toy instruments go. It can play a full scale, and the mouthpiece and fingerings do resemble that of a real saxophone. My only complaint is that there’s no thumb rest for the hand playing the bottom keys, so it’s difficult for a child to access both sets of keys at the same time. There’s a hole that seems to be intended for a neck strap, but one is not included.Overall, a very fun toy for a 3-5 year old.

Looks nice & works but made of very cheap plastic
Looks nice and works, but it is made of very cheap/thin plastic. I don’t expect it to last too long. It is not worth the $24.95 plus $7.95 shipping. This is a $5.00 value item.

Great for a toy
This is really great for a toy. Even our 16 year old grandson loved it.

Great addition for the instrument collection!
Cute and functional. Only downside is that it's all plastic so have to be somewhat gentle with it.

It's super lightweight and thin
It plays, but boy is it chincy. I'm surprised by the cost. It's super lightweight and thin plastic

Looks great but no sound!
Must be defective. Even though I played a wind instrument for 30 years, I could not get a sound out of it. If you want your child to make music do not buy!

Don't buy it
I wrote to the seller complaining that this product doesn't work properly and that even for an adult it was hard to blow the instrument and I got a reply saying that my child may be too young for this product. Very disappointing and not the way to respond to a complaint

A lot of puff needed
Slightly disappointed in this product. My 3 year old son wanted a sax for Christmas so I bought him this. It takes quite a lot of puff to get a sound out of it...far more than little lungs can produce. On the up side, I have taught myself to play the solo from Baker Street by Jerry Rafferty which gives everyone a good laugh every time I do it.

Great for the price!
I got my son the trumpet before getting this saxaphone. He would always put the mouth piece of the trumpet in his mouth which slowly made the coating rub away and also (due to biting) made it eventually break. The Saxaphone has a mouth piece so I can see this issue not happening. Great quality and my almost 3 year old LOVES it. New fave hobby is to watch saxaphone players on youtube and play along. Would definately buy again!

Poor quality fun
The lowest sounding notes are at the top of the instrument, so the highest sounding notes are at the bottom! So it is the opposite of a real saxophone and, therefore, not helpful as a first instrument for a small child. The quality of sound and manufacture is not as good as the one I bought for my daughter, many years ago, when she was 3 years old. This toy is a real disappointment.
