A Must-Have for Any Switch Owner with Larger Hands!
I should start by saying that I have very large hands. So, when I try to play games like Snipperclips (which require you to hold the joycon sideways), it just doesn't feel comfortable in any way, shape, or form. Even with the straps on, the joycon are just too small. However, this switch grip kit makes holding the joycon sideways actually comfortable! Now, don't get me wrong, they're still small, but the extra handles are exactly what I needed. The difference was night and day and I'd buy these again in a heartbeat! In fact, I plan to when I buy another set of joycon for four-player games. There are only two things I don't like about them. One is the covers for the joysticks. The stock joycon joysticks are actually very rubbery to the touch while the covers provided in this kit feel more plastic-y and make your joysticks LESS tactile rather than more. I just threw these away. In addition, the bumper buttons are pass-through on the controller cradles (that is, when you press the bumper buttons while the joycon is in the cradle, you are actually pressing a button on the cradle that then presses down on the bumper buttons on the joycon). My gripe with this is, if you are going to make pass through buttons, why wouldn't you make them bigger (think the buttons on the straps that come with the system)? The bumper buttons on the cradles are fine, but they'd be even better if they were much bigger like the ones on the straps.Overall, however, I highly recommend this product. I just couldn't picture holding the joycon sideways without them. And at $15 for a set of two, they really are worth it (especially if you have big hands like me)!

Only Grips with access to all buttons.
Purchased these with Mario Kart 8. So basically you want to get these or the other types. The Surge are of a higher quality and feel like it's something Nintendo would make over the other ones.Size may be a concern depending on needs. The other brands are larger and closer in size to a modern controller. The size of Surge is more in line with an SNES controller (Slightly less tall and wide). Good for travel and will likely fit in your switch case. Joy Cons are easy to snap in and remove. The L and R shoulder buttons are quite small. But it turns out this has improved response as it hits the joy con L and R in the direct center. I put the shoulder buttons through their paces in Mario Kart. No miss press buttons or need to find a "sweet spot" to insure functionality like enlarged shoulders often contain. These are not interchangeable. One grip for left Joy Con, one grip for right Joy Con. There are buttons to hit L and ZL or R and ZR respectively. This is where the Surge differs from the rest. None have access to those two buttons. Though we may not need those buttons yet, we are ready to go if we'll need them for a game later on in the Switch lifespan. This is the sole reason I went with Surge. Access to all joycon buttons. Careful which pack you get if you have colored joycons. As a bonus it comes with two rubber caps for your analog sticks. They are very good.

A must for casual multiplayer games.
I purchased the switch for the exclusives and a few odd games I wanted to play with other people. However I wasn't overly keen to fork out another £70 or so for a controller. These are fantastic. Are they going to be comfortable for hours upon hours of game play? Well that depends, probably not as much as a dedicated controller. However, if you're looking to turn on a 2player game for an hour or 2 then they're an amazing product. Well built and simple.

Can't Recommend This Enough
Can't recommend these controller grips enough, if you are so inclined then stop reading and just buy these. For everyone else, a few points:- Snug fit, ergonomic grip- all buttons easily reachable and work great- the rubber directional stick pads were a bit tricky to put on at first but fit great once I figured it out- cut outs make the lights viewable and easy to pop the controller back out- maintains the quality/feel and look of JoyCons- looks stylishI was so impressed that they really seemed to think of everything. I bought two sets (they were $5 cheaper at Walmart) and am super pumped to play some Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with some friends tonight over beers and not have to worry about handing over the dinky little JoyCons. Definitely a great buy.P.S. as I was writing this review and taking pictures I dropped one on the floor and the Joycon went flying out... No damage, looks to be pretty sturdy too!

OK, but poor shoulder buttons.
Comfortable to hold, and better for playing 2 player Mario Kart than the joy cons by themselves. However, the shoulder buttons are very small and don't stick out much, making them a bit difficult to press. That was a bit disappointing. The joy con attachments with straps are much better for the shoulder buttons. These also come with silicone thumb stick attachments which increase the height of the thumbsticks. Decent for mario kart, but didn't like them when playing Mario Odyssey, and I got tired of putting them on and taking them off. I haven't been using them.Overall reasonably satisfied, but will be trying a different product in the future in the hopes of getting better shoulder buttons.
