Guess what, one shade fits nicely on top of the other to form a globe. I put a few small pieces of invisible tape at the joint and now I have what my wife calls a street lamp, with soft light for my office. Very pleased with the look and the quality.

This is a good replacement for old, cracked or broken lamp shades. I had two older lamp shades that deteriorated over time. This one is deeper than either of my originals, and is an inch smaller in diameter, but it works just fine, and these replacements are impossible to find in local stores. The alternative is to replace the entire lamp, which is wasteful economically and environmentally.
