This slim volume collects 22 ruminations of a lifelong football fan on the beautiful game and the greatest footballer ever to set foot on a pitch. Not to be confused with anything as programmatic and exhaustive as a biography, Lessons In Style is a small and lively book written with by an erudite and thoughtful author unapologetically indulging in dewy-eyed hero worship, and, with a wink and a grin, giving his reader permission to do the same. I very much enjoyed reading it.
