And the built-in, rechargeable battery is incredibly long-lasting, powering your keyboard for about a month or more between charges.

Review: The best keyboard ever made - Okay, I should qualify that headline as "The Best Keyboard ever Made for the Mac!" But I have never used a better keyboard for *any* computer, and I've used a LOT of keyboards over the years. As a bluetooth connected device, you might fear that you can out-pace the connection and experience dropped keystrokes. But no, it doesn't ever seem to do that. I am a very fast typist and have never had that problem. Knowing Apple, this is not just a simple tap-transmit-wait-for-next-tap type of device. It probably buffers your keystrokes and transmits them, verifying each one with an acknowledgement from the host computer. That's the way I would design it, and it seems to do that. Just talking as a user, I find it very nice and easy to type on. The numeric keypad is also nice-to-have especially if you tend to enter lots of numerical data, for example in a spreadsheet. The keyboard usually lasts me about two weeks between charges, sometimes as long as a month, depending on usage. Over time, the battery gets weaker, as with all such rechargeable devices. I will mention that this keyboard is a replacement for one I got four years ago, which had an arrow key die. I need the keyboard badly so I just went ahead and ordered one without trying to repair the key. I did pry the key cap off and apply some alcohol, hoping it would fix an oxidized connection, but no luck. These keyboards are not really reparable beyond an occasional air blowout or suction (use your handheld vacuum to pull out the dust, hairs etc. from time to time). The one thing I'm doing differently with this keyboard is that I put on a thin keyboard cover, also purchased here on desertcart for a few dollars, to try to minimize dust and other particles accumulating. It protects against coffee spills etc. as well. It somewhat reduces the accuracy of typing, but the payoff is that the keyboard will likely last longer and require less cleaning. A tradeoff. I can recommend this keyboard to anyone working with a Mac, either desktop or laptop; it will increase your productivity and is a joy to use.
Review: A Game Changer for My Workspace! - I’ve been using the Apple Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly blown away by how much it has improved my typing experience. As someone who works on both my Mac and iPad regularly, the wireless Bluetooth connection makes it super easy to switch between devices. No more fumbling with wires or constantly having to reconnect—it just works. The keys are smooth, quiet, and responsive, which has made typing a breeze, even during long sessions. The additional numeric keypad is a huge bonus for anyone who does a lot of data entry or works with numbers—it really speeds things up. The rechargeable battery is fantastic, and I love not having to worry about swapping out batteries all the time. The build quality is solid, and as with most Apple products, it just feels premium and sleek. It also pairs effortlessly with my iPhone when I need to use it on the go. Overall, this keyboard has been an amazing addition to my setup. If you're looking for a reliable, high-quality wireless keyboard for your Apple devices, I highly recommend this one!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is the keyboard Bluetooth?**
A: Yes, but Bluetooth is not strictly mandatory. If you connect this keyboard's recharging cable through to a computer's USB port, the keyboard can still be used on a computer without Bluetooth (such as many Windows desktop PC's). That is also how the keyboard can still be used if the battery dies and needs recharging just before a work deadline. Note the included cable is relatively short, so a USB extension cable would be required for an enduring cable run going all the way behind a desk and down to a computer on the floor.

**Q: Does this keyboard have a back light?**
A: It does not have a back light.

**Q: Can the magic keyboard and magic mouse be used at the same time with the same MacBook Pro?**
A: Yes, you can pair multiple devices to host system. Just be aware that the more bluetooth devices you pair (especially older ones and new ones at the same time) the bluetooth can lag because it keeps switching the different bluetooth revisions. Normally it's not too bad but every once in a while it will freeze for a moment on my Mac (and in the tech logs it talks about bluetooth connectivity failed to connect, but it clears in a minute. If you have more than one computer or device where you would want to use the keyboard (such Apple TV) they can be paired with multiple devices but you must switch the input or turn bluetooth off (or disable the device) on the one you don't want to use the keyboard at present. This is only an issue if both the laptop & Mac are both turned on at the same time and within bluetooth range of each other.

**Q: Can I use this keyboard with a pc?**
A: Yes, it works great on PC's. It has Home, End, Page Up, Page Down, and Delete keys above the arrow keys. It also has a Control key on both sides of the Spacebar row. The original smaller Apple Magic Keyboard (without numeric keypad) did not have those, and used a separate "Function" key that was not available by default in Windows 7, 8.1, or 10.You may have to get accustomed to the "Alt" key and the "Windows" keys being in swapped places, but that doesn't take long (1 week for me) and no work-threatening actions occur if you get the keys confused. Other than that, this keyboard with numeric keypad is quite convenient to use on Windows PC, and I am replying using this keyboard on a Windows PC. This keyboard uses Bluetooth, a wireless technology also commonly seen in cell-phone headsets and car stereos that pair with cell phones. If your PC does not have Bluetooth and you do not (yet) have a Bluetooth dongle attached to your PC, you still can use this keyboard non-wirelessly by plugging the included recharging cable completely through from a USB port on your PC to this keyboard. Just make sure this keyboard's on/off switch is in the "On" (green colored) position.I have used Apple Keyboards on my Windows computers exclusively for several years. If you have arthritis in your fingers and have to use a PC, this is a great keyboard for you.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Game Changer for My Workspace!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Totally satisfied-- Holds a charge for months!
*by B***N on October 30, 2017*

I've used many wireless keyboards by several different manufacturers and I can finally say that I've found the perfect bluetooth keyboard. I understand there are a lot of traits people look for in their keyboards, and to make it short, this is a typical Apple product. It is sleek, low-profile, has a nice clean and modern look, and is most importantly easy to use (I'm typing with it now). It easily pairs with your computer without the need for a USB dongle, like some of the Logitech models I've used. Over the years, I've used brands that have failed to work over short periods of time and need constant charging. When I bought this, I assumed I would be charging it weekly. But sixty days later? I still have 48% power!! This is a keyboard I use for work every day- and I don't even turn it off!! I am blown away by the battery life. My previous computer keyboard was a Logitech k750 (I had two actually) and while the solar power worked well enough and I still consider it a great contender, both of my k750's batteries died within 9-10 months-- and replacing their batteries isn't ideal. It's worth adding that I'm not currently aware of a way to replace the battery in the Magic Keyboard. The icing on the cake is that the keyboard charges with a lightning port- so I can charge my keyboard (if it ever needs a charge THIS YEAR) with my iPhone's lightning cable on my desk (or the included lightning cable).
