Incredible Weather Station - A Must Have...
I know this model has been out for awhile but I have to say it...It's about time the displays with weather stations caught up with the rest of the world. I've been wanting to replace my older weather station for some time...all the while I dreamed of the display's being more graphic and in color. After looking over what Amazon offers...I found some which had the text in color and the forecast in color...however nothing "Wow'd" me in terms of the display until I came across the AcuRite 01024M Pro. Once received I had it installed within a couple days. I couldn't believe how easy it was compared to my older system. What made the installation a breeze (no pun intended lol) was the fact that the sensors are all housed within one unit...unlike the older systems which had at least three separate sensors and wires. It was as simple as attaching the sensor housing to a dowel at the height I wanted and then attach the dowel to the roof. Done. Going back to the display...all I had to do was plug it in and it automatically started the setup process and detected the sensors. In fact I didn't even need to look at the user guide it was so simple. And of course, the display was awesome. I loved the graphics...gives more of a computer feel to it...yet the info is laid out in an orderly fashion and easy to understand. An added plus which I actually love...seeing how the display is always on...is the option to dim the brightness at a specific time in the evening or...to have the display go into a sleep mode at a specific time and wake back up at a specific time. The screen dims and only shows the most important current weather info. If you need to see the main screen you simply press a key and it wakes up. The display goes back to sleep after 15 seconds of the last key press. This is very handy at night. I have mine go to "sleep" shortly after I call it a night, and wake back up about an hour before I get up. Now that is a very clever handy function. This system also updates more frequently when it comes to wind guests than my older system did which means it catches more guests with less data loss. My older system updated every 30 seconds...you can miss vital wind gust info within a 30 second span. So...this was an added plus for me. And lastly, this weather station also detects lightning which is a first for me. On day one after I installed it we had another winter storm push through and behind it heavy showers. This system detected a single lightning strike about 9 miles away...most likely off shore as we live on the coast. You see the lightning alert on both the display and the portable detector. I like how it actually tells you how many miles away the lightning was. To know if lightning is getting closer or moving further away you simply see if the system is reporting lighting with the distance decreasing or increasing. Decreasing means getting closer and increasing moving away. Simple enough. One thing to note, as you look at the included photos, I also have a wired wind gauge which is the small display you see above this weather station's display...and to the left of this stations sensors on my roof. And yes...I also purchased it from Amazon. It's electronic and gives me up to the second wind info...so a more accurate wind reading. While the wireless update window with the AcuRite 01024M Pro is much faster than older systems...there is still some data loss due to the update window it has...which is why I have a second wind gauge...kind of like a back-up system. So...if you're looking for a well put together weather station with clean crisp graphics...and in color to boot...I highly recommend this system. I'm very happy with my purchase and look forward to tracking the remaining winter storms of 2017 as they push through our area. Hope this review helps you to make your decision....

Acu-Almost-Rite for Australia
First let me say that this is one great little station that has worked beautifully and measures accurately. The display is a thing of beauty, big & clear & easy to read from any angle (no LCD angle issues here because it's LED/TFT display). I live in Australia so I have a couple of issues with station. Firstly the power pack supplied only had a US plug on it so I had to get an adaptor plug (no biggie). The date format is MM/DD/YY which drives me nuts as here in Oz we are DD/MM/YY so I have to convert every time I read it and this is not configurable in settings. But the biggest issue I found, and I had to make physical modifications to the unit to overcome, was that the base unit is rigged to face south with it's solar panel so as to maximise the direct sunlight in the northern hemisphere..... here down-under the sun shines from the north so I had to orient the unit north and in doing so had to flip the wind direction tail around 180degrees so as to read the wind direction accurately....and that tail is not made to be flipped! After some tail shaft adjustment by filing down a new flat spot I managed to flip it around successfully. The final thing that is not reading correctly (and I suspect may be a southern hemisphere issue again) is the "Feels Like" temperature is not correct. Currently where I live in Melbourne Australia we are in mid winter and it's cold when the wind blows, however the unit is most likely programed to think in northern hemisphere mode where if the July wind is blowing from the south it's going to feel a little warmer than the gauge reads..... well it's the opposite in Oz, southerly winds are the cold ones here so it never "Feels Like" it's warmer than the gauge reads in July. I am thinking these things could be fixed in a firmware upgrade some day, but until then, I am happy to have my Acu-Almost-Rite station.

We love our AcuRite 5 in one weather station!
This weather station is awesome! We live on the coast and the lighting strike feature is perfect for us! It detected a strike 7 miles away, and we didnt even know! It is eady to set up and easy to read.

Good unit.
Very easy to install. I bought the solar power supply to go with it so don't have to change batteries. Only issue is I had to ask for a replacement because the 1st one was lost in transit.

Adding additional sensors or dimming the display didn't work. No Acurite customer service either!
This is a really nice product and it worked out of the box. But the auto dimming mode on my display doesn't work and also I have tried to add Accurite temp sensors to it and this display would not see them. But the wind and direction work well, Temp is accurate with the humidity. Just wish the temp sensors that I purchased would pair and the display would dim. But in today's world it's rare to buy a new product that works 100% out of the box. Additional comment: After three business days of trying to contact customer support with out ANY luck at all I did some research. Apparently Acurite does not have any real customer support any more.. This could be an issue issue if you have a real problem. So far I can live with the two discrepancies that I listed above. It's a nice unite but BEWARE - No Customer Support. No phone support. No live chat and NO EMAIL RESPONSE. Nice product just too bad there is NO ONE to answer your questions or conerns. Upate - After five weeks in service we got a second rain and NOW the rain gauge quit working. Very disappointing for sure. Also this is mounted up 30' on a metal building and a rain slick roof so it's not going to get checked out till spring now. Some other observations are the weather forecast picture display doesn't have a clue what's coming or current and the barometer is not accurate at all. I check it with the local airport that is 1/4 mile away and my good old trusty mechanical barometer and it's pretty far off. The "two week" leaning period for the weather forecast pictures and the barometer are truly a joke. I'm of course past the 30 return window with Amazon and no response from Acurite for a service request. The unit is really a toy and waste of money and effort to install. Buyer beaware is the name of the game with this unit. Additional update - December 2019 - Interesting thing with the rain gauge, it woke up. Today we had 25mph winds and the sensor was bouncing around atop a 4' pole that is 2" in diameter. In one hour the rain gauge measured .61" inches of rain. The problem was there was not a drop of rain. The movement of the unit at the top of this pole must have bounced the rain gauge enough to trigger it constantly for an hour and I go 5/8" of rain with out a drop falling. I guess I can't blame acurite for this but at least it woke the gauge up or broke it loose. Can't wait for some real moisture to see what it measures then. Final update - October 2021 - Well about 6 months ago the rain gauge part of the display would not store the historical data and display it. I knew the 5 in 1 sensor was okay as I would get rain results as they happened but in the 48 hour period following the historical data for this one event would disappear. Well I put up with this until this month when I finally tried to do something about it. I powered down the display to dump all the stored data and after waiting 5 minutes I powered up the display and half of the graphic display was blank!! Now I try to go into the menu and do a hard reset and it won't allow me to do that as it produces a blank screen. I have played with it for two days now and while I still have wind speed, direction, temperature, humidity the rain gauge stopped working. As I mentioned half of the information on the display is missing so it's time I start looking at a brand new weather station and you can bet it won't be Acurite. This isn't the first piece of Acurite gear I have ever owned but it will certainly be the last. Acurite puts some great features in all their products but you have to hold your breath that it works for a year. I got three years to the day and this thing died completely. So it's time to move on. Thank you Acurite for a neat product it's just too bad it's build of such cheap material it just quits working.

Excellent product
When our longtime weather station stopped working, we decided to try this one, and we’re glad we did. The color display is much brighter and clearer than our previous weather station and therefore, is very easy to read. There is lot of data for weather buffs, including outdoor temperature (and “feels like” temps), indoor temperature, wind speed, barometric pressure, the current time, date and day of the week, alarms, and many more customizable features. Plus, set-up was easy. We’re glad we found AcuRite Iris Weather Station.

Disappointed with my new upgrade
Love acurite weather stations. It's my go to for weather stations to get weather info. Over the years this this my 3rd unit. Very disappointed with my new unit though. Purchased January of 25. I upgrade to this model from the AcuRite Iris (5-in-1). New unit has never measured wind speed accurately (usually have to double the speed showing to get close to actual wind speeds) and now that is hotter outside the day time temps usually read approximately 10 degrees hotter than it really is. Maybe the internal fan stopped working. Not sure. I may have a unit that was built on a Friday. Lol. I will continue with acurite weather stations. I may have just got a dud. Wish I could have been writing a better review. Like I mentioned before Acurite is my go to. Only giving 3 stars for my new unit though.
