The title says it all!
With so much discussion about ESG, net zero and other environmental commitments, the "how" of actually achieving those goals is frequently forgotten. Practical Sustainability addresses how businesses can achieve tangible results in meeting their environmental goals challenges, focusing not just on the physical, but also the digital. As such it is an important resource for all companies to learn how to become better stewards of our planets resources!

This book is a gift to all people and our planet.
This book is a gift to all people and our planet - given the severity of increasing climate impacts, changing stakeholder expectations, and emerging regulatory changes. "Practical Sustainability" provides an actionable roadmap for how physical infrastructure, society, organizations can adapt the way they operate to address significant challenges and create commercially viable solutions.

Sustainability from the PR/Marketing office to a revenue driver
This admittedly provocative headline is my interpretation of this transformative book! Let me track back a bit - sustainability has been talked about for decades and alot of the progress is corporate 360 reports and sustainability (aka. environment and social) goals. Fast forwarding to today - with the COVID pandemic changing perceptions and also priorities for consumers, employees, and companies alike (voluntary or not). This book takes the mystical concept of sustainability and puts a hands-on practical spin on it by showcasing how rapidly evolving technologies such as DTs can transform sustainability to a driver of growth and 'sustained competitive advantage' (no pun intended here). I recommend this book to every forward thinking academic and professional that is interested in smart manufacturing technology, open to innovative business models, and cares about their fellow human beings and planet! Well done!

Great insights on transitioning to NET-ZERO. Must read for sustainability professionals.
I recently finished reading the book “Practical Sustainability” and thoroughly enjoyed it. The book gave plenty of insights about the processes that were followed at Infosys to achieve Net-Zero. I am amazed by the detailed attention given to explain difficult concepts and aptly complemented by relevant and practical examples.I never thought about Sustainability from the perspective of the place where we reside and how it shapes our thoughts and actions. However after reading your book, I got access to new lens to look at Sustainability that provides more holistic perspective. As an EHS professional, I am glad to come across such an insightful book that would help for rest of my career. After all, we have only one PLANET and climate change is one of the biggest challenges for us. Your book would definitely guide many sustainability professionals to work towards fulfilling NET ZERO commitments of various organizations. Many thanks to the authors for their wonderful effort to bring this book to the world.

Abundance is not Infinity
I believe there are several perception shifting ideas in the book. The concept of Terra Preta – humans hacked evolution, the covid pause creating the possibility of the planet healing itself, Commerce, shelter and supply are the 3 fundamentals of economic activity. The biggest idea (the one I really loved) was the concept that abundance is not infinity. A breakthrough in the book is the concept of sustainability as a science based operating model, not just as a good to have – but something that will actually drive revenue and profit. This is superbly exemplified through the neo business concept of circular commerce on the back of experience, system of systems, regenerative future and the digital twin. Not only are we revealing new business models – but also the “how” is explained. This book is an important read for business leaders who are contemplating the new economy and how fundamentally this will change their business models and the capabilities of their teams.
