This is WAY BETTER than a traditional caulking gun
I purchased this to use with some sausages I got for a floor. I decided to try it with regular caulk tubes and yep! it works great with them. I did have to remove the blue plastic part so the plunger would fit the regular caulk tubes. The squeeze trigger is really well designed and the long pull will allow you to bead caulk trim for long distances without having to re-squeeze. This allows for a great even bead along a long baseboard or window trim. When releasing the handle, you have to also relieve the pressure by pressing the metal plate or you will continue to squeeze out caulk because of the existing pressure from the last squeeze. The screw on top and bottom pieces tend to unscrew and fall off or loosen up. I had this problem until I got it dirty with caulk and then it was fine. This thing is large (long). So a regular sized caulk tube fills up about 2/3's of it.Sausages work fine with the blue attachment on it.Pros:squeeze trigger is really nicecan use with regular caulk tubes AND sausagesCons:top and bottom screw caps tend to fall offpuncture pin (on handle) is too short and kinda fat so it's pretty much uselessI've retired my old caulk guns due to this one being just better in some catagories AND it does sausages as advertised.
