Great Watch!
I ordered this watch for my boyfriend's 30th birthday as a gift and he absolutely loves it! He is a bit of a "watch snob" and had his eye on a few VERY expensive watches -- all of which were way out of my price range. I did a lot of research and chatted with some very knowledgable sales people about the Hamilton brand and was definitely impressed with the quality of their craftsmanship. The watch is unique in that you can see the gears and mechanisms on the backside, which not only looks cool but adds a nice effect with the lack of battery (the watch is powered by your movement). The leather band was a bit lighter than I expected given the picture shown, but compliments the face of the watch well. Since my boyfriend is a bigger guy, he wanted something with a bit more depth to it and a watch that stood out on his wrist. This watch is not oversized, but definitely does not blend in when worn. He has already gotten a number of compliments on his new watch and I think it is a great deal for the price (and trust me, I shopped around!). Overall, a classic looking watch that is very well made for a steal of a price. Very satisfied with the purchase!

4 years on... and as sharp as ever!
I ordered this watch from amazon in July 2015 along with a aftermarket dark brown leather grain band, deployment clasp and a $5 tool set to change the band out myself. It was money well spent... since the original band is much lighter in color (almost tan) and doesn’t have a deployment clasp (super important for me... as I’m prone to mishaps when in a rush!).The watch itself has not required any servicing so far and still keeps excellent time... during periods of consistent wear with no manual winding, I’ve rarely ever seen it gain or lose more than a minute or two per week. After initially being quite conservative, I’ve really enjoyed wearing it daily for the last 2 years... it’s definitely a nice looking watch and ppl notice it (men and women)... has a dignified and elegant look that compliments both formal and business casual clothing... plus, since it’s not easy to distinguish from a distance (doesn’t look like a tag, breitling, omega etc.), ppl who appreciate watches will compliment and ask about the brand!

DO NOT BUY Broken within 4 months and disappointed. Broken again in 8 months
I purchased this watch for a 30th birthday present to myself, my first Swiss automatic watch. Within 4 months I went to change the date and it broke, the date was stuck between two numbers and wouldn't change. Not sure if I would buy it again. The leather is nice the movement is loud and shakes the whole watch at times and the face appears to be almost white in the picture but is actually more silver than anything. I sent the watch back and the store that sold it to me sent it to Hamilton it has been a few weeks now and still no watch. Kind of disappointed. UPDATE - I got the watch back on the 21st of June. I sent it to them for repair in April and at the end of June it was returned. Not a good turn around.UPDATE: I sent the watch in for repair again in October the date was changed times at 3 and not 12. and after never getting a confirmation from them that the watch had arrived I had to call multiple times to to confirm that it had arrived and was going to get repaired. After discussions they said it could take up to 6 weeks for the repair (I only wish). If the watch gets repaired in 6 weeks and sent back to me it will arrive right as my one year warranty runs out in December. I have asked for an exchange, refund, and for them to extend the warranty for an additional year but nothing. I have called there customer support line and left messages for them to call me back but no return calls. I have called amazon's support line and they state they can't help. It is extremely frustrating that I spent almost $1,000 and I may be stuck with a broken watch. EXTREMELY disappointed.UPDATE: As of 1-28-14 I have yet to receive the watch back from the repair I sent in October and the company has not answered emails or their phones. I have called Amazon to help and they have opened a claim. We will see if they can help. As of now I am out at $1,000 and I don't have the watch.

Classic looking timepiece
I got this watch for Christmas and I'm very pleased with it. It's a classic looking timepiece that looks good in most situations. The 42mm face is good sized without looking as obnoxious as some of the clocks people like to strap to their wrists these days. It keeps excellent time and has a decent power reserve. I wasn't a fan of the strap; it's high quality but not really the look I wanted. I knew that going before buying it and strap changes are a breeze if you have the right tools. I mostly wear it on a nice dark brown strap but it also looks great on black as well. The lume is not really worth having as you can barely see it in the dark but I didn't buy this one for the lume. Overall, a great buy at a good price for a Swiss chronograph.

Elegant and sporty
I did quite a bit of research before spending the money on this watch. I am a college student who doesn't have tons of money to splurge on accessories, but every once in a while i'll see something that catches my attention. This is one of those "somethings". After seeing this watch for the first time online, i had to try it on. I went to a local jewelry that happened to have one and i tried it on. I love the weight of the watch and the Wobble of the rotor when it freewheels and the noise it makes (the watch isn't broken, it's just how the movement was designed). Now, another reviewer commented on the date breaking when he tried to set it. This and most mechanical watches have a general rule, Never set the date between 20:00 and 3:00. that is when the date mechanism is active. The watch is absolutely gorgeous. It is pretty understated and flies under the radar. it however is very elegant and will go well with just about everything. Definitely would recommend you check out the Hamilton jazzmaster series. American brand, with swiss internals. Quality internals if i may add. It's movement, the valjoux 7750 is used in many higher end watches. The workhorse of the swiss movements.Love It!!!
