Q: does this have hard wood backing or particle board?

I didn't get that one, but it is probably particle board, almost all furniture is now, Especially if you have to assemble it. But that doesn't mean it won't look good. Little advice; If you buy t when you receive it check out all the parts and make sure the measurements are right before you put it together.
