I knew of this heat gun before purchase...and it does the job.Small to mid size heat shrink, up to 1/2", it shrinks quick. On the high setting it shinks up to 1" no problem. Even 1 1/2". For tech jobs where heat is required repeatedly this gun will do the job.

I'm using this heat gun for a few years and I really like it from 2 reasons:1) This heat gun is much smaller than any other heat gun that I was able to buy at Home Depot and it easy fits to my traveling toolbox.2) Two speed and temperature setting works very well on a hard rubber tubing, which requires to be heated up and also on small heat shrink tubing.I just ordered these 2 heat guns for our traveling toolboxes for machine service in Europe.

This only has two settings, but works great for heat shrink tubing because of the small nozzle size. I haven't used my standard sized heat gun since purchasing this a few months ago.

I have been using these heat guns for years. They are so much more appropriate for the electronics bench top than the big red 1500 Watt heat guns one typically sees. They are gentler on the work, lighter and more precise, and they don't have the exposed metal exhaust that melts or burns anything it touches. You can turn it on, shrink some heat shrink, turn it off and set it down on a messy bench without worrying.

This works well on heatshrink and also it able to reflow SAC305 BGA and large through hole components.

Wow, I love this heat gun! We were playing monopoly when a friend knocked their drink over. I used my heat gun and the monopoly money was dried in seconds without blowing everywhere! However, I use it mostly to dry my watercolor paintings and it works wonderfully.

this heat gun has such a strong fan in it, that it blows away what i'm working on! Although I'd read about it in another person's recommendation just for my use (shrinky dink shrinking), it just doesn't work for that. I imagine it would also not work on many other art projects due to the strength of the fan.
