A great working tool!!
It has been a long time since a book has had such a profound impact on my life and my approach to looking at the world. This book helps you take the tools of Masonry and use them to give you a more positive, thoughtful outlook on life while helping give you an inner calm that I needed. I reccomend this book to any Brother who wishes to truly square his ashalr.

Every Mason who truly wants more light should own this book.
This book has been a pleasure to read. It is very will written, and should be in the library of every Freemason. The author's passion about contemplative Masonry is evident, and the concepts are true to the Craft. I recommend this book to all my brothers!

A great resource
Bro. Dunning has written a clear guide to developing a personal interpretation of and relationship with the symbols of Freemasonry. This book represents one of the best means by which an individual Mason can put into practice the old adage that we should seek to "make daily progress in Masonry."I have found the exercises included in this volume particularly enjoyable and rewarding.

A practical and useful guide
The Author did a wonderful job of understanding the wisdom contained in the Masonic ritual and symbols and then developing practical exercises around them. Its a very thoughtful work which is supported by his understanding of numerous traditions. Well worth reading.

Good for 98 of 215 pages.
The book was good until it started getting to all the exercises. If you follow the books instructions there is little time left for brotherhood. As you would get to lodge just before opening and running out of the building after closing to go home and write down in a journal. You also would never talk to anybody at lodge following all these exercises. I cannot tell you how many books I've read about meditation that say the same thing, feel this, be conscious of that, feel the energy move, imagine what somebody else would say 🙄 Freemasonry and esoterics, with meditation is great thing. Don't get me wrong the author did a great job. 116 pages of breathing exercises and meditation exercises, you've probably heard about them or red them all already, this book after page 98 is nothing new with meditation, breathing, and visualization, it just adds Freemasonry to it. If you know how to meditate and have been doing it for a while you're not going to learn anything new. I would not recommend this book to a novice, but to the Freemason that doesn't want to participate with any members of a particular lodge, this book is for you. A group of Brothers with the same idea wanting to do this would be the better recommendation then just doing it at a stated meeting or a degree meeting.

A deeper meaning
I've been practicing meditation for over 25 years. To contemplate upon the mysteries of life is a natural instinct, and this book helped me to view my Masonic studies from a different angle. I strongly recommend this book to those who are seriously seeking for greater things in their lives.
