Mobius + Ruppert (M+R) Sharpener Replacement Blades - 3 or 10 pack - Made in Germany - finest in the world! (Pack of 10)

Who knew? Recently retired, I have taken up colored pencil drawing and art, including more expensive papers and pencils. To both protect the pencils and produce good art, you not only have to sharpen the pencils very often, you also have to replace the blades in your little hand sharpener frequently, much more so than for ordinary writing pencils. So I bought the blades to try it, and even on a relatively new small hand sharpener, the difference in a sharp, brand new blade was clear. You really do need to sharpen and change blades often, if you care about your work quality, and especially if you don't want to hack up the wood and break the core of your pencils. Which are expensive.These blades are fine, made a BIG difference. I recommend them.You are going to need a small screwdriver, too. You may need a younger relative with good eyes to do it, but that's not the blade's fault.

We had an electric pencil sharpener and some dollar tree sharpeners that needed some help so I ordered these blades. Oh my goodness it makes a dollar tree pencil sharpener almost cut like an artist level sharpener!! I was so impressed and happy that I may order a second set to make sure we always have some. I don’t know when they will get dull but for right now I’m going around and replacing any pencil sharpener blade I can find lol. I sharpened all the kids colored pencils and school pencils for the joy of the smooth and sharp points! These blades also fit in all the sharpers we have with out a problem. Get them, so far we are not disappointed.

I work in colored pencil, and we must sharpen our pencils very, very frequently. I had been using hand held sharpeners and replacement blades made by another German company, but my last two or three packages of replacement blades were not sharp at all, and chewed up my pencils.I decided to try the M&R sharpener and blades, which I have now been using for about 4 1/2 months. In that time, I have used and replaced 10 blades. Because the new blades are very sharp, and they work very well, I didn’t hesitate to stock up on them.As to 4 stars instead of 5, in my first pack of 10 blades, 2 weren't sharp at all. I was forcing the pencils into the sharpener, and struggled to get a sharp point.I find that with a sharp blade, as I twist the pencil, it is almost pulled into the sharpener.Despite a couple of dull blades in my first 10-pack, overall, I'm happy with these blades.I hope for more consistency from my next packs.

I have two old M+R brass sharpeners, and these renewed both. Good service from seller, too.

If you don't have access to a quality electric sharpener, then your best fallback is an M&R (Moebius and Ruppert) manual sharpener. All other manual sharpeners are a waste of your money and time. Solid brass and fitted with replaceable blades that do the job. You can go on line and order replacement blades as needed, but they seem to last quite nicely. I find that these sharpeners are a pleasure to use, and hope you will too!

without fresh sharp blades it is imposable to sharpen most drawing pencils.

These replacement blades, although sold as M&R brand, do not fit either of my M&R pencil sharpeners precisely, therefore they don't cut a sharp point on a pencil, which is the whole point.The original blades on the sharpeners both have Made in Germany stamped on them, which these don't (these have no marking on box or blades). Which makes me wonder if these are in fact M & R brand.

I have had such horrible luck with eyeline pencil sharpeners. When I found the Mobius one, which had the highest customer satisfaction rating, I bought it, and it is wonderful. Then I realized I could get replacement blades, so I've got those now, too. Don't waste any more money on any of the rest of them just get these!
