This hat is attractive and seems well-made. The brim is wide enough to provide good sun protection. It also wards off rain pretty well, though I can feel some drops coming through the mesh. But people with larger heads should be cautious: I comfortably wear a 59 cm (23 1/4") hat, and this one is slightly snug. (Not a bad thing, as a gust of wind deposited my last hat of this sort in the St. Lawrence river). Those with larger hat sizes should probably choose a different model.

Thanks to the wide brim, this hat provides great protection/shade from the Sun! Face, head, and back of neck covered, but your head can still breathe (venting on top)!!!! Coloring (Khaki) is nice and deep and it’s a good quality material; very sturdy. Even with it being sturdy, you can still fold it in half. And finally, it’s very light on your head and easy to keep secure with the string (also sturdy)!! One last pro for me is the fact that you can snap the brim up for different looks! I would definitely recommend and will probably purchase a few more colors!

I love this hat! It's lasted me 3 years of solid use and abuse, washes, dirt (I work with plants and in the elements all day). Great for keeping the sun out of your eyes, lets your head breathe, dries quickly, and easily folds into a bag. I love the color, ordered the green for a friend, but I found the material is different. Will be ordering more in the same tan color.

I absolutely love this GearTop hat. I purchased it because my doctor told me to wear sunscreen protection and specifically to wear a wide brimmed hat. I have tons of regular trucker style/baseball style hats, but needed a wide brim. This hat looks great. The color is perfect - not too light so it won’t get dirty and not too dark so it won’t absorb heat. The fit of the hat is also perfect for my large sized head (just as the fitment chart said). It is very lightweight so you’ll barely notice it on your head - no real extra weight whatsoever. The drawstring serves as both an adjustment for sizing as well as a way to lock the drawstring under your chin to keep it even more in place for those really windy days. So far I haven’t needed to lock in place as the hat fits so well. The thing that really sold me on this hat is the ventilation system. I hate hats that make your hotter and don’t ventilate well. This has ventilates amazingly because the circumference area on the upper part of the hat has a mesh that allows for airflow in and heat out. Everyone also thinks that I look pretty good in this hat as I get many compliments so far. The UVF of 50+ in the fabric is also perfect as many of the sun’s rays can get through most clothing. I truly cannot think of a better quality made hat that stays attractive. This hat ticks all the boxes for the perfect hat. Absolutely an emphatic recommend for anyone looking for a great sun hat, hiking hat, gardening hat, etc.

I love the hat which boasts a lifetime warranty. However, when I had an issue, as in the chin strap came undone from the hat band on one side, I discovered Amazon sold the hat "directly from Amazon Retail". The manufacturer says this means the order number is not in their system.This is the second time I've ordered a product from Amazon, only to discover the product warranty is not honored by the manufacturer. Frankly, this seems like a dishonest trade practice. I should not have to investigate the supply chain procedure before I buy something from the retailer.I am going to think twice before purchasing from Amazon again.Update: the manufacturer honored their warranty in spite of the issue with Amazon. They are sending me a new one! I love the hat; it's lightweight, has a hidden zippered compartment in the crown, is adjustable and offers plenty of sun protection.

Hat is great! Wearing it now in Arizona. Brim is wide to keep sun out of eyes and off neck. Vents keep head cooler.
