The price for this burner has been under $100 but typically floating around $86. Why has it jumped to $299???

Save your money and buy a sturdy different brand! I lived mine, but after a year the crappy spot weld broke while cooking, almost had a friend wear a wok full of hot oil and food… company NEVER responded about replacing the item!!! I bought a solid square frame with higher output flame…

Can this be used with a 14" round bottom wok without too much trouble?

Yes and no. You can definitely use it, but it's not super stable, you just have to be careful not to tip it over. It's also a touch small if you turn the flame up high, I found the flames kept coming up the side of my wok and reaching over inside the wok, maybe not a bad thing, but be aware of it. I also don't recommend a wok with wooden handles on this, my handles caught fire about half way through my first time stir frying on this burner. I've since purchased a 16 inch work with metal helper handles that I think is going to work much better than my 14 inch wok.

Description says it can hold a pot up to 36 quarts. Can it really hold a 9 gallon stock pot? What's the largest pot in diameter/weight? Thanks.

There is no way this burner will support 36 quarts, (9 gallons or 75lbs) without the leg support spot welds eventually ripping out of the main support bowl which is only .03" (21-22 gauge) thick. I did a test once when my burner was new, I filled a 10 gallon pot with water. The legs continually bowed outward until they had each slid over an inch from their start point. This is why Eastman specifically states not to use this burner for frying turkeys. I would stick to 35 lbs max including the food you are cooking, especially if you are vigorously stirring.

What is the inside measurement of the base where the burner is, to remove wok forks and replace with wok ring?
