Perfect Weber OEM Replacement - Easy to Install
This regulator is an OEM replacement for my Weber Silver Genesis B propane grille. The old regulator was leaking and needed to be replaced. While using the grill I noticed a strong gas smell. Tightening both fittings didn't seem to help so I was off to Amazon to look for a replacement regulator. Thinking back now, I suspect the slowly leaking regulator may have been the cause of a couple empty propane tanks that someone forgot to close the valve on after grilling. The regulator arrived on time and was well packaged. It only took a couple minutes to install it. A quick test with soapy water in a spray bottle confirmed there were no leaks. In no time I was back to grilling again. The "no tools" hand tightened fitting that connects to the propane tank is a good design and makes it very easy to swap tanks when empty. One of the nice things about Weber grills is they last forever and parts (like this regulator) are widely available. So far I've replaced flavorizer bars, an ignitor and now the regulator. I plan to keep this grill for a long time.

Worked Flawlessly - Sometimes workarounds don't work
My BBQ had been on a slow decline for a long time. Winter seemed to be worse and sometimes swapping the propane bottle for the spare that had been in the garage (ie a bit warmer) would often do the trick. This method stopped working and if the BBQ would light up at all it would be with super low blue flames.I had been trying to fix my BBQ for a while using various tips and tricks found across the internet. None worked. I even cleaned off the 'bug screens' that lead to the burners. Again, nothing worked. Before going to the extent of taking the burners out and cleaning them I figured the cost of this ($25) was worth it to me.Installation is about as easy as can be. A couple of wrenches to work the small fitting and then connecting the tank side like normal and my grill lit up like it was brand new. I'll even admit that I skipped the soapy water leak test (I know, bad me).

Great replacement for 7501
This device perfectly replaces the 7501 regulator on my 2002 model Weber Genesis grill. All it took was an adjustable wrench to loosen the connection on the hose and retighten. The connection to the gas needs only hand tightening. Do test for leaks using soapy water. Mine worked perfectly the first time and completes my rehab of the grill, which included new gas lines and starter. Happy grilling.

Make sure you use soapy water to check connections. The one I received was leaking behind the black knob that screws on to the tank, but Amazon stands behind their products so I ordered a different brand. I will see if it is better. I was using kids bubble soap and it did not show the leak, but I could hear gas escaping. I got some water with dish detergent and with that solution it blew some big bubbles. After ordering another hose and regulator I still had a leak. I went a got another thank that I had and it did not leak with that tank. I believe that the seal is bad in the first tank that I tried which allowed gas to escape out the back of the connector.I had originally given this a one star rating. I have change it to a 5 star and give myself a 1 star. I still believe that water and dish detergent is much better at showing leaks than Kids bubble soap!

Leaks!
My regulator had developed a slight leak, could hear a small hiss. Ordered this replacement and Amazon reminded me I had ordered the same thing about 3 years ago. Since my Weber is 6 years old, that means these last about 3 years. OK, not good but OK. The replacement arrived several days late and 2 days before we were having friends over for a BBQ. The replacement not only leaked, it HISSED. Thought it might be my tank, so I switched to my spare tank, same thing. To be sure, I took my tank to a neighbors and tested it with his regulator, no leak. Very disappointed in Weber. My neighbor lent me his regulator for our event and I ordered a Grillmark regulator from Amazon.Grillmark regulator arrived today, a couple of days later than Amazon promised. I installed it and wonder of wonders, worked perfectly, did not leak. Amazing when things work as they should!

I kept find that my propane tanks were not completely emptying. This was annoying becausewhen I went to have them refilled they were only half empty, but when using them the fire wasdown to barely a trickle. The guy at the refill station tested the tanks and said their valves wereclear and working even though they were getting a bit old. So I figured it must be the regulator on the hose.Sure enough, when I took it apart, it was corroded on the inside and the metal membrane that permits the flowof gas was not allowing gas to flow at the lower pressure of less than half tank.I put this on and now I have a much quicker and warmer grill on start, and a more efficient use of my tanks.I really like my Weber grill. It is an older Silver model. I had to get an adapter to fit this regulator to the old fittingwhich was a bit smaller at 1/4" but they had a nice brass one at the hardware store. The old regulator actually came apart, and it looks like water had leaked into it or something. It was highly corroded. This regulator is a single molded piece. I also bought a better cover because I think the old one was allowingwater to get to the lower parts of the grill.Just for reference my old regulator was probably about 12 years old or more. I thought since the hose didn't leak itwas ok, but I had a similar problem with a water pressure regulator being old with a failing membrane, so I thoughtI would give a replacement a try and it worked. A lot cheaper than buying a new grill.I also replaced the igniter on this one. Weber grills are so good they are worth fixing.
