I have used this on four bowls, it has held great, the rubber blocks are marked so I set them all to the same direction, allows for better hold, hasn't left any visible markings on the bowls, I should have ordered sooner.

This is definitely not the best chuck on the market, but while you're deciding which one is and saving the money to afford it, this one will do everything you need, especially if you're turning bowls. It comes with the screwchuck, so you can fasten substantial sized blanks to the face of the chuck in order to turn the outside and the tenon. It comes with 2" jaws which are pretty much the standard tenon size for moderate sized bowls. And it comes with the bowl reversing jaws and excellent rubber bumpers for securing the rim of the bowl (natural edge bowls need not apply) while you clean up the tenon and finish the bottom of the bowl. I bought mine as a second chuck so I don't have to constantly switch jaws, and this chuck would handle 12" bowls where the bowl reversing jaws on my first chuck would only handle 9" and my lathe will handle 14". So for getting started, this chuck will do everything a chuck should. When you get sick of swapping jaws, you will have figured out that you can never have too many chucks, and this one will earn it's keep.
