Davis Instruments 6450 Solar Radiation Sensor for VantagePro2 (Wireless)

Happy to be able to install this additional sensor to my weather station. It was easy to install but does require the sensor bracket which is a separate item to order. Provides additiional data such as Radiation in Watt/m^2 and then can calculate other parameters such as evaporation.Recommend installing sensor on bracket before install bracket to the weather unit. The fastening hardware is small and it is a blind operation if you install the sensor after installing the bracket.

Not a lot to say, it's Davis. Built to do the job, connect it up and it functions as it should. Better price from rainmanweather than here in the U.K. You will also have to enter the SETUP menu and under ACCESSORIES tick the box for SOLAR SENSOR if you do not do this THSW will not show in the BROWSE DATA column.

The device was simple to install, required no setup whatsoever, and works exactly as expected. On the other hand, it should have been made clear that it required a mounting shelf. I made my own, not wanting to wait...

great quality from Davis works as expected and this sensor has been in place now for months with no issue.

Mounting was difficult due to plastic retaining clips falling off. Had to call support to get items replaced 2 times. Springs, washers, screws all mounting hardware support sent them right out no charge. Very frustrating.

Added this to my home weather station. Just another tool for knowledge. Easy install with the mount (sold seperately). KNCHIGHP24

Please read the user Manual and in the picture it shows Ring with Comb Structure. It doesn't come.Please try to send it. It's part of what I bought, and a very important part.

Easy to install via the well written instructions. Plugged into my ISS and 'hey presto', solar radiation was being recorded. As simple as that.

Works as expected, but silly price for a simple solar sensor, especially considering you hace to spend another £40 for a simple mounting bracket.
