I spend my day in front of my work PC - it is powerful and a workhorse, nothing to complain about but has little about it to make me think about it in a loving way. Switch from work to my personal life involving my Microsoft Surface Pro 8 , With Microsoft keyboard, Pen, Arc Mouse, and Signature Keyboard and emotions of pleasure occur on an every-use basis and it is not just the ease of computing, design features like the stand or ergonomics involving the self-locating charger and docking to the keyboard are also wonderful! Value for money - for me undoubtedly but you have to love the little pleasures to feel that I am sure!

The battery would not change on the first one I received. I took advice from Amazon and other clever people and then returned the Surface Pro 8 in anger and frustration. Amazon pick up from home system is slow and,despite courier company recording the pick up, after 10 days it still has not been registered by Amazon. VERY BAD SYSTEM. After I cooled down, I ordered another: it worked perfectly out of the box. So the product when it works is great .... but Amazon ??? LESSON LEARNT : DO NOT RELY ON HOME PICK UP. I had limited time in UK and Amazon almost ruined it.UPDATE : It has taken couple of weeks, but have received a full refund on faulty purchase. Amazon system was slow, but works well. Thank you.

This is a nice item, but not for me as I wanted to buy something with longevity which results in the future proofing of the item. This means more memory and better processor and unfortunately more money.

You get a one time code to give to the driver the item will be allegibly packed with other items, once the code is given the driver scans a box and off he goes, you unpack to discover there is no Surface pro inside any of the packs, despite immediately reporting this, I am supposed to wait until the endo of the day, reporting this via a chat system, then via a robot voice customer agent, eventually getting through to some distant call centre, by which time, you are told it's delivered! Explaining once again to several "support agents" who tell you that if it does not show up after another 48 hours "reach out" to them via returns and orders. My advise is never buy anything of value from Amazon, and if you do check it's there in front of the driver, I am sure whoever has received this item is not going to complain, it may also be worth considering, that given they can not trace drivers or call them, that an item with a specific one time code is high value to dishonest types. I find it unbelievable given a tech based company like Amazon, can not trace or contact drivers, that's 10 years out of date.

I bought this as I needed something portable and scalable that is windows based.problem is the battery life is not remotely like what is advertised......not even half of what is advertised by microsoft (up to 16 hours) or what various review websites suggest (9 hours) .doing just general web browsing, at 50% brightness and on battery saving mode I'm getting around 4 hours usage.Tablet is fully updated and ive ran various surface error checking software that shows no issues.I've not had chance to check yet how little battery life id get at higher brightness doing something more intensive like using applications or watching moviesbut to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement and likely hood is I'll be returning the unit if i cant find a way to improve it, having to recharge it every 4 hours of use or being tethered to a power supply during use is just not something I'm willing to do.so yeah in conclusion, buyer beware. the battery life is awful.
