Stops a cold if you time it right
I like to make sure I always have a bottle of this for in case I feel the start of a cold. You just do 2-3 squirts up each nostril (oh, the glamour!) pointing the nozzle out towards your ear with your head up straight. You’re then meant to not sniff, but I try to do just a very small sniff so that the solution is in the right place (high up in the nose/back of the throat). A big sniff and the solution will just go down into your stomach, so it won’t work. A big sniff also runs the risk of the solution going into your sinuses, which is really painful! So remember, just a very small sniff…If I time it right, and keep using it for a couple of days after the cold symptoms have gone away, it works well for me. I do find I sometimes get a bit of discomfort in the tummy, but this is only brief and usually happens when I’ve been using it for a few days, but it’s worth it to avoid a cold!I like the fact that the bottle contents are sterile even after you’ve started using it, if it’s sat unused for a while you just have to pump the nozzle into a tissue until the solution starts coming out again. This doesn’t mean you can share it though, I mean, I wouldn’t want to use the nozzle again after someone else anyway! This product is definitely worth a try if it means you might avoid that cold. I recommend.

The only thing I can use
To avoid the burn follow these steps - tit the nozzle to your outer part of your nostril, spray and then if you’re feeling brave tilt the head back a little and breathe lightly through your nose.If you don’t do the above you will in fact feel like you have scrambled your brains out, streaming eyes, choking and oh the burn. You’re still going to feel it but trust me the burn won’t stick around. As someone with a compromised immune system I am both thankful for this product and afraid of it. I can’t take the usual cold/flu meds and so this is a great help. It has stopped me from catching so many colds and has lessened symptoms of fully fledged cold and flu bugs. I still struggle to use it sometimes but it is something I’d recommend above anything else.

Effective if used at the very first sign of a cold
I always keep a bottle of this in the house. I really do feel that if you start to use it at the first sign of a cold it can help to prevent it developing. However it MUST be taken at the very earliest sign eg, that slight tickle that you get at the back of the throat right at the start. If you are not quick enough, it will be too late and you will still get that cold.

Great for stopping a cold
Great for stopping a cold. Didn't stop covid (wouldn't buy if you've been advised it will. As it won't!) 😂. Followed other reviews by not sniffing very hard after using. Thankfully had no side effects. When used correctly for me personally it worked great. Had a little funny taste in the back of throat like most nasal sprays

Recommended
My daughter recommended this as I have COPD and really suffer if I get a cold. I use it at the first sign of sniffles or sore throat. Also use it if in crowds such as theatre or shops. Easy to spray and no taste or unpleasant effects

It does work, provided you use it properly and are patient.
Before spraying, sit down and tilt your head back slightly. Place the nozzle as far up your nose as it will go (without excessive force) and dispense three sprays. Then; holding the other nostril down with your finger, take in some gentle breaths, encouraging the fluid to enter up into your nasal cavities (part that gets blocked when you have a cold). Be careful you don’t inhale too hard as it can be quite unpleasant this – though you do get used to it. It feels like acid is being zonked up your nasal cavity. They recommend in the instructions for you NOT to do this, but I’ve found it works better if you do. Up in your nasal tubes is where the cold virus resides and develops.Ironically when you take the spray, it may give you cold like symptoms for up to an hour or so, sometimes a little longer. This is your body reacting to the foreign nature of the spray, trying to get rid of it. Hopefully as it gets rid of it, the spray will have trapped much of the virus by that time, expelling it out of your nose as your body naturally cleanses (sneezing or blowing nose). It’s important that as soon as you ‘think’ you have a cold developing then you must start taking the spray, up to 3 doses per day (morning, afternoon and night). We all occasionally feel tingles in our nasal cavities, and it doesn’t always mean you’ve picked up a cold virus or indeed if it’ll develop into on. However, I recommend you don’t take the risk and don’t wait until you know for sure it’s the cold starting. You could end up wasting a couple of days, giving the virus more time to ‘bed-in’ and grow. The spray works best at preventing the cold if you use it immediately on suspicion.Once you start taking it, how many days do you take it for? That’s a good question, and it all depends. I’ve been using the spray on/off for 4/5 months now and find that you need to listen to your body, or rather your nose. This is going to sound gross; but if you can ‘pick’ solid matter with you finger from your nose, that’s usually a good sign that the virus has been expelled and you may stop taking the spray. But if you’re still using hankies or feeling tingles in your nose, it’s probably best to continue with the treatment. If in doubt, continue the treatment for a further day – just to be sure. The shortest time I’ve taken the spray for, when first feeling the cold symptoms is 4 days. The maximum time is two weeks.Depending on your luck? the spray will do one of two things:1) Stop the virus developing to any perilous level and eradicates it within 3-4 days. You will not develop the cold as the virus has been completely killed.2) The spray is unable to kill the virus completely but manages to contain it. With this, the spray effectively pauses the virus, preventing it from spreading/taking hold. You then become dependent on your body’s natural immune system destroying the virus which it will do naturally in two weeks or so.Clearly option 1) would be the most desirable, but if it ends up being option 2) then I urge you to be patient and continue taking the spray. If you give up taking the spray after a week (before your body has had a chance to fight and kill off the virus) THEN it WILL take hold, developing into a full cold, and you’ll need to wait a FURTHER two weeks at least for your body to fight it. I believe this is what a lot of people are reporting on the reviews: they have become frustrated, impatient they need to take the spray for longer than they were expecting too.As I work in a job that involves being around a lot of people all the time, I’ve found that during the cold season (November to February) it’s a good idea to take a dosage when I arrive at work. In doing this it appears to prevent ANY virus from getting in at all. At the weekends, I don’t do this.If you’re like me and you HATE having the cold/sore throat then this spray is a godsend and definitely well worth the money. Although I’ve only been using it for 4/5 months I can say with confidence that the reason why I’ve not got a cold, despite being exposed to it at work continuously and the cold weather, is down to this spray.During the cold season I’ll never be without it now.
