Nest before Google never disappointed! This camera was made by Nest, NOT Google. This camera is GREAT! The picture quality and build quality is excellent! Unfortunately, Google took ADT's money and nuked their good products for worse versions that are tied into ADT. Googleis now known for suddenly ddisabling the product that YOU bought and paid for monthly att amoment's notice. They are doing this to the Nest Secure Security System! Do NOT buy this new as google may be getting ready to kill the Nest app that this camera REQUIRES to operate! NOTE: This camera does not natively work with the Google Home app. Therefore you have to use the Nest app to set it up or make any changes!

Our original doorbell quit and replaced it with this one. It works great no problems easy to install.

One of the best doorbell camers available. You just need to make sure your existing doorbell system is compatible before hand. I had to buy a new 16vac transformer that could produce enough amps because the old one we had was obsolete since it's an older house. If you have a regular doorbell system with a ding dong, it will most likely work. If you however have a fancy 3 or 4 chime doorbell with the mechanical gongs, it will not work as the fancy chime is an over complicated mess in regards to how it's wired. The camera angle and quality is satisfactory. The nest app is very good, though sometimes minor glitches, I really like the nest app. I however hate the google home app for viewing the camera. It's pathetic actually. Google is a degradation type of company and regresses instead of progresses. So proceed with caution. I am really only giving it 4 stars because nest is now run by google. When I first started buying nest products years ago, it was not owned by google. Bad move nest. The product itself should have 5 stars, but just make sure it is compatible with absolutely everything and if they ever drop the nest app, I would change this review to 0 stars in thst specific case if it happens, which is a fair chance. Recommended with reservations.

I've worked in IT for over 20yrs so far and back in 2022 a friend (who also got Google NEST) convinced me to get Google NEST as my first home security camera setup, and I'll just say it's been a huge disappointment after that first year of ownership. The cameras are absolutely useless without a subscription, especially the DOORBELL. I paid for the subscription for 3 years until their NEST Outdoor cameras started to fail on me, so I changed them out to another brand that doesn't have a subscription forced on you and didn't see the point in paying for a subscription anymore for just the Google doorbell, especially when they offered 3 hours of free video history (BS). What a lie that is. Google advertises up to 3 hours of video history, but there is literally NO VIDEO ever recorded (Play button doesn't do a thing), and the snapshots don't even capture anything useful. Someone could stand in front of my door and ring the doorbell for minutes and just kick the door in and this POS wouldn't capture a thing and I'm not even kidding! It won't capture anything!!! Other than LIVE feed I have no idea whose at the front door. The doorbell worked great with a subscription, but if you plan to use it without one, DO NOT. This camera should be FREE if it's going to require a subscription in order to have any use at all as a product. After this whole experience between the four Gen2 Outdoor Cameras failing one by one after a year (Randomly wouldn't charge even though directly plugged in), and this Doorbell, I will never purchase anything Google again and will advise friends and family to do the same. Hardware wise, the doorbell is great, but it's Google that ruins the whole thing unfortunately. All these cameras were basically a waste of money at this point and will be going on EBAY to try an recoup some loss. Imagine buying a car for $40,000 and not being able to drive it for it's advertised 400 mile EPA range without paying a subscription each month to the dealership, otherwise you can only MAYBE go 10 Miles each day. Like WTF is the point??? Go and search the internet about peoples experience with Google NEST Cameras without a subscription and their so called FREE Video History. It's false advertisement plain and simple. They make the experience so bad that it's un-useable in an attempt to force you into paying more to them. Terrible business practice. Just don't.

I like these doorbells but this is my second one so I question the durability. I’ll probably get a third one when this one goes out in 4 years. This doorbell is in heavy hot sun so maybe I should give nest a break.

I can't believe Google didn't keep this design for battery models - a much nicer look than white plastic. Pretty easy to update the 'old' doorbell and keep the chime working. Just needed to ensure the Nest settings had the indoor chime turned on, plus upgraded doorbell to 16v AC 800mA (easy $20 eBay purchase). Recommend.

Encore une bonne blague des grandes entreprises Américaines. Très difficile à installer, la notice, la vidéo ne sont pas clairs, et il fait décrypter que l'alimentation doit être avec un transformateur alternatif (j'installais à neuf la sonnette, tous les tuto sont pour un remplacement). Le bouquet : pour utiliser pleinement la sonnette, notamment sur l'utilisation de la vidéo (lecture et sauvegarde des alertes), il faut souscrire à un abonnement de 10 ou 16€ par mois. Sans ces abonnements, c'est une Sonnette "simple", trop chère pour 133 ou 279€. Avec ces abonnements, c'est une Sonnette/Caméra hors de prix. Je vais donc renvoyer ce truc à l'oncle Sam, en confirmant ici ma déception.
