My husband and I were able to try our Blaze of Glory cocktail smoker last night and we loved it. The smoker itself is simple and elegant and the directions for how to use it are clear and accurate. The butane lighter lit the wood chips within seconds and the smoke funneled into the glass with no problem at all. The smoke coming from the cherry wood chips gave our Old Fashioned a subtly sweet flavor and the overall smoky flavor balanced beautifully with the bourbon and vermouth. The box that the smoker, torch and wood chips come in is suitable for gift giving, so if you are ordering for someone that you want this shipped to, it will look very nice when they open it. We are so happy with this purchase that we are letting our friends know that they need one too.

I was looking for a cocktail smoker for my friend and liked the design of the gift box and smoker. I went and looked at the store of the company that sells it and they have a lot of nice quality products so I bought this one and it works great. Chips smell like cherry, torch works and smoke top is easy to use

Very easy to use, you will need to experiment to get the correct smoke flavor.I used to for making old fashioned. You have to let it cool between drinks, it’s hot!! Or get a few extra screens.Great value for home use… if you want restaurant bar quality, keep looking, but as far as home use, this is terrific

The wood chips come in a large container which makes them easy to grab and put in the smoker. The design of the whiskey top is very cool and easy to use. The torch is easy to fill up and has an adjustable flame on the bottom. The smoke from the torch and wood-chips pours out into the glass. Great product! Would recommend for sure!

The media could not be loaded.  tl;dr:Good price, underwhelming results, not for someone readying to take their cocktail game to the next level.The longer version:Seattle, where I live, has one of the best whiskey bars on the west coast, maybe in the US, called Canon. Their "Campfire in Georgia" comes in a cloche swirling with smoke and the drink tastes, in the best way, like sitting in the woods with your best friends.And herein lies the problem with all these smoking kits. While I have small things to complain about this particular kit, all of these "hat on the glass" kits don't really impart enough smoke flavor to add something special to your cocktails. Yes, there's an element of smoke, and no, that element is not unpleasant. But when you use a cloche, and a smoke gun and whatever other accoutrements are needed to deliver bar-like smoked cocktails, the result is completely different, like comparing a ten year old Toyota Yaris to a brand new Rolls Royce. They both get you to your destination, but one is a significantly nicer experience than the other. Again, this applies to all kits in this "hat" style and isn't a knock on this particular one.So, what about this kit?The pros:They aren't lying about the cherry shavings. I compared two kits, and these shavings are bigger, which makes them easier to burn, which gets you to smoke faster. The chips in this kit are better, and the chip cannister is big. You'll be setThe cons:1) I assume none of these kits come with butane because it adds a level of complexity to shipping (it's explosive after all). If you give any of these kits, make sure your buy a cannister of butane to give with it, as opening this up and planning to make a cocktail and realizing you don't have butane at home is a bummer2) To say this comes with a recipe book is a stretch. There is a tri-fold card with 3 recipes, any of which you could find with a web search. If you make any of these, you'll only do so once, as you'll immediately want to graduate to something more complex3) My friend has a kit similar to this one that I'm reviewing. I think hers is better because the filter is permanently in the smoker tube, which makes cleanout easy. You turn it over and tap the ashes, smoking or not, into a coffee cup, put new chips in, and smoke more cocktails. With this kit, the chips sit in a little stainless steel strainer, which obviously gets too hot to touch. So if you want to empty out used chips and put new ones in, you either wait for it to cool down or you need a set of tweezers to lift the little strainer out. It's precarious, and this means you're limited to the number of drinks you can make at a time. This is probably not a problem for most people, but if you're showing off to 4 friends, you couldn't have enough wood chips in the strainer for four cocktails in a row4) The instructions, though printed on high-quality cardboard, are pretty meagre. For example, nowhere do you get any instruction on what the tiny wire brush is for. Now, that seems obvious, you'd use it for cleaning the wire strainer, but it sure wouldn't hurt to have more information rather than lessIn sum:As much as I was excited to try this out, I don't think it's something I'll use all that often. I would guess that for most people this is a use-once-and-then-in-a-drawer-until-it-goes-to-Goodwill thing

This is an excellent smoking kit for whiskey and other drinks. When you unbox the product everything is inserted in foam and it feels like a quality product. The portion that actually infuses the drink is a nice wood finish and the way its shaped forces the smoke into the drink. One thing to note, the required fuel for the torch is not included and you will need to go to a hardware store or order it online for the torch to work.I tested this product on several different cheap whiskies and I have to say, it really improved the overall flavor and depth of the whiskey. You only need to use a few wood chips per drink so I could see the chips lasting for a long time. If you are into quality drinks and you want to add some depth to your whiskey this is the product for you.

There is an unpleasant smell when lit, making people very uncomfortable and feel that the smell is harmful

The media could not be loaded.  Loved the Smokey taste it gave the bourbon! If you Notice it smoked more in the glass minus the ice. I would recommend smoking your whisky etc without ice and then add afterwards. Smoky taste was great! Can’t wait to try it with a pineapple old fashioned!! Definitely buy this!! Sidenote: torch does not come prefilled with butane. Must purchase butane separately and fill torch.
