Obviously, this is more money than the base model but for our family who use it daily it’s worth it. Same foot print, so still fits in the original stand and bit holder (uses the same attached so don't have to buy more) Just as easy to clean and change bits.The extra power does make it faster and it's really on more demanding things. Just keeps blending on.I’ll say I don’t like the coiled cord as it makes it harder to use in my opinion. Makes lovely soups, gravy, smoothies, mayo and so much more.

If you order a electrical appliance on Amazon.com.au (Australia) I would expect an Australian compliance plug. NO I got a UK plug.Now what I do with it?

I love this blender. It really is very powerful. I tried making frozen banana and frozen mango ice cream - works brilliant. Blended vegetable soup in a 2.5L pot within a minute or so - very quick, very powerful. The food is literally drawn into the blender. I tried it for smoothie - easy. And also tried for nuts - was curious how well its gonna do peanut butter. The blender was able to do it! But when it comes to peanut butter it takes some hand strength and time, because the nuts needs to be blended for a good few minutes.Some people dont like the fact that you cannot detach the stick. But I have no issue with that. All it takes to wash it is literally 5 seconds of blending in a cup with clean water after use. No need to take the blade off either.Some people mentioned that the blade attachment wont stay on while blending. I had the same problem until I figured that it needs to be pushed in properly.Also it is not very noisy! So I am very happy with it.

I've had one of these for a while; I returned the first one after quite a while and have had its replacement (no quibbles about that, thank you) but the second one has the same problem. When used as a stick blender for soups etc, the little blade attachment won't stay on!! I've lost count of the times I've had to fish it out of pots of hot soup, and the amount of times I've got my son to squeeze it with pliers, which is not that easy. That is the recommended solution, but it doesn't work for long. So I'm thoroughly fed up now. Such a shame, as its a great blender in every other way, with very useful attachments and accessories. I will probably buy a basic stick blender but keep this one to use with the mill and the chopper. So I'm a disappointed customer.
