Elden Ring Official Strategy Guide, Vol. 1: The Lands Between

Bought this as a gift for someone who loves lore. He unfortunately knows too much and didn’t learn a whole lot from the book but he read it cover to cover and loved it. Very good overview. Very thick and heavy book!

This is a truly incredible guide to have while playing Elden Ring. Especially at the price ($40 at this time). The detailed maps and NPC story guideline are key for ensuring nothing is missed. Of course you can find the same info on the awesome community wikis, but there's something cool and convenient to have a physical book while playing. Part of it appeals to the older days of RPG gaming with thick guidebook, and the amazing RPG that ER is makes for the perfect fantasy game experience in today's age. I'm eagerly awaiting Vol 2 for the continued knowledge on combat and equipment guides, which is not included here. I also wish the index was more fleshed out. The way it's structured, you'll probably be flipping back and forth constantly between the maps/dungeon guides and the storyline sections. I haven't mentioned the hardback and page quality is great, no notes. The map is huge but can be partially folded and flipped during use and so far it's holding up. I highly recommend this book if you're considering.

Have you ever played Elden Ring and thought I want to know everything. Well Here you go. It will even tell you where you forgot your car keys when you are late for work and provide you a precisely detailed step by step guide and map of the crypts you must explore and the enemies you must face to complete the side quests required for you to speak certain NPC’s to unlock the ending in which you become Elden Lord and can mend the Elden “key” ring so you can finally make it to work 300+ hours later. This book covers everything which sounds great from detailed Dungeon Maps to the locations of crafting materials. Honestly it is too detailed if there can be such a thing. I cannot imagine keeping this thing open while playing the game because of the sheer magnitude of a single volume of this book. Honestly it probably runs counter to the game since the hours you’ll spend pouring into this volume is probably equivalent to a playthrough of Elden Ring. The book is beautiful but so much information is provided it seems like it was was detrimental to the layout if the book and I’m often confused by the book and the text is small making it difficult to read in low light. Still recommended to the guy who needs it all.

If you are not familiar with Future Press and you are a fan of High-Quality Collector Video Game Strategy Guides then look no further. FP is quite honestly the Mercedes of printed guides. High Quality, insanely accurate, and exhaustively researched. This Volume includes everything you need for a full and complete walkthrough including all endings etc. for Elden Ring. Volume 2 will be more of a Beastiary, with full info on all enemies and bosses you meet on your travels but don't worry, Volume 1 is as complete as you need to beat the game and find everything. As others here have mentioned, Amazon's packing was under par and I also had a slight dent on one corner but this isn't Future Press's fault. Hopefully, someone @ Amazon reads these and packs them better later. 5 stars for the Book and its quality and info. Also comes with a huge, 2 sided Map of the entire overworld of the game area. 2 Stars for Amazon's bad packaging. Also note, these books have a high resale value as they always sell out and do not get re-printed so don't wait! Just check the re-sale prices on their past Dark Souls editions and you will see!

I've waited so long for this to be released! The second I heard future press was doing an elden ring guide,I pre-ordered IMMEDIATELY! I had bought the bloodborne guide they did when it came out and I was in love with it. So much thought and hardwork was put into these guides, and i couldn't be any happier with the outcome. I pre ordered volume 2 immediately after receiving vol 1. The book is very well made, and the ginormous map that is included is beautiful, and printed on very nice, sturdy paper, just like the pages in the book. Even if you don't like to use strategy guides, (I never do), this is something every fan of Elden Ring Should consider buying. It's a great collectors item. Huge thank you to future press for making such an awesome guide!!

Even though I beat the game shortly after it came out, I thought this looked cool enough to be worth buying. And it is! The maps and art are cool, and I'm enjoying a new play through using the guide to see what I missed the first time when I went in blind. There are a few flaws, however. The biggest is what I mentioned in my title: The bookmark is starting to fray after a few days of use. I keep the guide on my coffee table as I play, leaving it open and glancing over occasionally. I only use the bookmark rarely when I turn to another section for an extended time, like when in a legacy dungeon, or when I close the book after I'm done playing. I'm pretty careful with the book. But as shown in the photos, it's gone from very slightly frayed when I first got it to almost an inch of fray. I wrapped some tape around it until after I'm done with this playthrough and I put it on a shelf so that it doesn't get any worse. It's pretty disappointing that it's already coming apart after the lightest use. And the guide itself has some issues. I've run into quite a few typos and simple errors, such as giving incorrect page numbers when referencing another part of the book. The most egregious was in one of the quests where it was telling you where to get the specific item you need to complete that section. Rather than telling you on the quest page, it sent you to the section of the book that goes through each region. Not only was the page it sent me to completely wrong, but it wasn't even a page for the same region the item was actually in, leaving me completely lost and pouring over the maps in the book for that region until looking it up online in frustration and finding out I had no chance of finding it in the book until I would have stumbled on the info hours later when I was in that other region's section. The guide also warns you in the quest section that some NPCs have certain triggers that cause them to skip parts of their quests or fail them entirely, like activating sites of grace in certain areas. But then in the region guide, for a world boss strategy, it will tell you to run past the boss to activate a grace site that's closer to the battle area than the others, not telling you that it's one of those that will progress NPCs' quests. There are just a bunch of little things like that that I've noticed, and if I hadn't already completed the game, I would have been pretty annoyed that I skipped some parts of quests without realizing it due to the guide's advice. So take its instructions with a grain of salt. But if you're looking for a book that will look good on your shelf and that has mostly good info that you can just refer to occasionally, I'd recommend it.

I started playing Elden Ring and was initially frustrated at the lack of information about what the hell was going on. I have grown to love the game through having minor wins after dying trillions of times. It’s simply a stunning achievement that I’d put on par with fond memories I have of playing defining game changing (no pun intended) releases like Fallout 3, Skyrim, GTA 3 and Vice City, Red Dead 2 and Halo (I just got a PS5 and haven’t played their greatest hits yet and I’m sure I’ll add more titles to that list). I got sick of looking up things on my phone to explain what had just happened and wanted a guide to accompany my game play. I’ve purchased both with the second title yet yo be released. I had a quick flick through and it is staggering how much thought has gone into this game. I’m restricting using it as a walkthrough as I am enjoying the discovery of jaw dropping monsters and fantastic areas I am finding. This book is, I think, a wonderful complimentary companion to this astounding game. Now about the purchase. No issues, arrived by express post from the US super fast. Packaging kept the book in great condition. The books are a bit on the very expensive side ($80 Australian each) but man, the work that went into them and the game makes it hard for me to count my pennies on this purchase. I’ve been playing the game for 50 hours and I don’t think I’ve scratched the surface. The game and book are works of art. Hats off to everyone involved. Must buy if you’re a fan.
