The enzymes in dog toothpaste is a must to help prevent teeth pain in golden years
My big dog… yes has his teeth brushed (as best to MY ability) each night before bed. You cannot use regular toothpaste on a dog as it is not good for them besides the toothpaste designed especially for them has enzymes that will stay in his mouth eating up bacteria. As well as his breath does not stink. Win, Win if you ask me! It comes with 2 toothpaste tubes, a great double ended toothbrush (which is the one I use) as well as a finger brush (might be helpful with a small pet). The only negative is he doesn’t like the flavor like he did with his previous beef flavored toothpaste. When they no longer offered the beef but instead only poultry I had to find another brand as he is allergic to chicken. So decided to try this one. I do have to admit that for me I believe it works better on getting the stuff off his large molars but he however preferred the other flavor.

Makes brushing less of a chore
My dog loves the flavor of this toothpaste. I cannot tell if it is actually cleaning tarter off her teeth or the tarter is coming off just from brushing them daily, but it at the very least gets the brush into her mouth and makes brushing less of a chore.

Two paws up!
I used to buy Sentry toothpaste. It seems to be the most common brand and is easy to find in all the pet stores. But like so many pet products, they price is much higher than it should be. I was happy to find that they had sentry on Amazon at twice the size for the same price in the stores. After buying it a couple of times here ($6.64 for 6.2 oz), I found that they raised the price ($9.81 if you subscribe, over $10 if you don't). Not quite such a bargain anymore. So I looked to see if there were other options. And that is how I found OxGord.$14.95 for two 7 oz tubes was definitely a better price. I compared the ingredients to the sentry brand. While the key ingredients vary a bit, they both contain ingredients whose purpose is to polish or clean.I had wondered how much the sentry brand tasted like poultry. Unfortunately one morning I did find out. (Tip: Don't keep your dog's toothpaste next to yours.) While it didn't have a bad taste it didn't really taste like chicken. Fortunately I have not tasted the OxGord. But every time we use it, I can smell the beef. It smells like an open can of beef broth. My only complaint is that the tub was difficult to open. There is foil that you have to remove from the opening. When I peeled off the foil, the thin plastic that is under the foil remained attached to the tube. So I had to find something to poke a hole in the plastic. The paste is kind of thick. (Thicker than the Sentry) So it doesn't come out of the tube as easily. But on the other hand, because it is thick, I feel like it stays on my dog's teeth a bit longer. My dog gives both the Sentry and the OxGord two paws up. But for the price, I will go with OxGord.I have not used the tooth brushes. Personally, I think the inclusion of these are just a waste and makes it seem like a better deal. I use a regular toothbrush for my dog. If toothbrushes for humans are designed with angles and ridges with the marketing message that they do a better job of cleaning than a flat toothbrush, why shouldn't I use that type of toothbrush for my dog? I can get decent Colgate ones at the $1 store. So it is much cheaper to buy it than a flat stiff brush marketed for dogs.

Wow works wonders!!!
my dog's breath was smelling so foul omg it was on another level of disgusting! It's only been 3 days so far but his breath doesn't smell bad at all anymore I couldnt be happier. He likes the taste of the toothpaste but not a fan of brushing the first day he bit me not hard because he's a sweetheart but to show he doesn't like it but that's too bad for him because he desperately needs it. Like I said it's only been 3 days and he's already got used to it, its still not his favorite but he lets me do what I have to, he's a smart dog so I know that he knows I'm helping him and he must feel better and cleaner since he absolutely loves coming back from the groomers. His teeth seem like they've whitened and the plaque build up has definitely decreased significantly! I can't wait to see it after a month but I'm just so happy with the results I felt like I needed to share right away. I will try to update in a monthPros: My dog thinks it tastes good2 big tubes of toothpaste for a fairly cheap pricecomes with 2 toothbrushes (3 different sizes)Completely takes away bad breath in a very short period of timeHelp with plaque removalwhitens teethhealthy oral hygiene ( very important cause of many diseases)Cons: Your dog might not like getting his tooth brushed to make sure you gently introduce them to the idea. Especially be careful if you have a large size dog or obviously an aggressive oneTips: Be sure not to scrub like you would your own teeth just lightly go over their teeth and gums in a circular motion the toothpaste should do most of the job! Watch a Youtube video if you don't feel comfortable or want to gain more knowledgeTake care of your dog he loves you unconditionally he deserves a fresh mouth just like all of us loli feel bad it took so long for me to buy him this lol

No More Dreaded Doggy Breath!
This item is not only a great value, it’s high quality. I’m a new Pets & Paws fan after this purchase. It comes with two large tube of dog toothpaste and one brush. The only drawback was the one toothbrush. I have two dogs and I’d never let them share a brush since I wouldn’t want to pass germs between them. I ordered a second brush from a different seller, which worked out well since they ended up being a different color (so I can tell who’s brush of who’s).The key to brushing is turning the dog in their side or back (don’t use too much paste to avoid choking). I do a gentle brush on the molars, outside first. Then I open the snout more to access the inside of the molars. Lastly I brush the front and bottom teeth, giving lots of praise. I brush the compliant beagle first (who loves it) and then the reluctant beagi (beagle/corgi) allows me more leverage. I let the beagi close a little on the brush, but not all the way. I use my fingers on the gums to keep the snout open, but never close to her teeth (to avoid injury). She seems to like constant praise. Now it seems tgs dogs know exactly what it coming when I tell them, “Time to brush your teeth girlies!” I think they even look forward to the evening ritual now.And the best thing is waking up to a non-stinky dig kiss. Pearl, the beagi, had the breath of a beast before using Pets & Paws toothpaste. I was even embarrassed when she got near my friends and I used to constantly apologize for her bad breath. Now she has great breath and I know it’s better for her overall health to care for her teeth.I do wish Pets & Paws made more innovative brushes. That would make things easier. Possible a while mouth brush where dogs bite down and bristles are sonic (like an Oral b Pulsat). I also would love for them to add a dental scaler or doggy floss (if possible) to the line. The toothpaste is the best I’ve used for my dogs. I can’t recommend it enough. It has a neutral and pleasant smell. It’s enzymatic properties neutralize the worst doggy breath.

The best product I ever bought for my dogs.
I get this item a little over three months ago. My young dog start building up plaque and since she's a Saint Bernard, I could only imagine the bill cost if we allowed her teeth to keep rotting, so as an attempt to self-problem solve my dog's tooth, I came cross this set.Two toothpaste? Two different types of tooth brushes? It's only 7? Sounds like a deal.At this point, the toothpaste does amazing job removing the plaque off her teeth. I noticed I have to do her teeth daily because takings three days off (I totally spaced about it) causes the plaque to return. At the same time as I ordered them, I ended up adopting a male from family member. At first, they didn't seem to like the very thought of me pushing stuff in their mouths. It take a week or so for them to even let me touch their mouths without "fight" happening, but the moment they realized how "yummy" the toothpaste was...well, let's say our male dog is obsessed with it. He can't wait to have his teeth brushed daily. Whereas it's still a fight with my Saint Bernard to get her teeth brushed (Nonetheless, I still brush her teeth by the end of it).I don't use the long toothbrush the product came with because it's rather small for both dogs. Instead, I get two regular toothbrush for the both of them. It helps to brush their teeth without me bothering them too much to have their mouths open for long.

I admit that I purchased this with a heart full of doubt and a pitbull full of halitosis, but it really works well!
It's hard to review an item like this, because let's face it, the subjective experience here belongs firmly to the canines, whom Amazon hasn't (yet) managed to capture the thoughts of. I admit that I purchased this with a heart full of doubt and a pitbull full of halitosis. My dogs are, as a rule, the most laid-back couch potatoes you can imagine, and generally go along with anything I subject them to, but I really thought tooth brushing was going to be the place they finally drew a hard line. When it arrived, I popped open one of the tubes and sniffed it. Didn't smell like anything, really, which was either a good thing or a bad thing, since it was supposed to taste like beef. (Also, I know we're just conditioned to mint as The Flavor Of Toothpaste, but I have a hard time even writing out "beef flavored toothpaste" without heaving a little mentally.) I tried the suggested method of letting the dogs lick a little bit of it first, but they wanted nothing to do with this weird white maybe-beef-flavored goo I was proffering. I had no choice but to just go for it. To my great surprise, while it clearly wasn't their favorite morning activity, they both let me get a good scrub in from day 1, and the one with death breath definitely benefitted from the procedure. I haven't yet motivated myself enough to make this a daily thing, and we're still working up to more than a 30-second scrub, but I'm positive it's the brushing itself they protest and not the toothpaste. So, whether it tastes like beef or nothing at all, the dogs don't seem to find it offensive, and Cody can now breathe near me without me wanting to run for cover.
