The writing style is engaging and full of personality, capturing the ups and downs of being a tween with authenticity. My kids couldn’t stop laughing at Lottie’s antics and loved how the story tackled crushes and friendships in a way they could relate to. If your kids enjoy diary-style books with a lot of laughs and a bit of drama, this one is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend for young readers! Review: I bought "The Mega-Complicated Crushes of Lottie Brooks" (book 3 in the series by Katie Kirby) for my daughter, who already loves the first two books, and it was an instant winner! She devoured it in just a couple of days, giggling non-stop and constantly saying "This is SO me!" or reading funny bits out loud to me.The diary-style format with loads of doodles, lists, and hilarious illustrations makes it feel like you're peeking into a real girl's secret journal. Lottie deals with all the classic pre-teen drama – mega crushes (including a holiday romance in France!), braces, embarrassing family moments, first dates, and friendship ups and downs – in the most awkward and funny way possible. It's spot-on for that age, capturing the chaos of growing up without being preachy. My daughter was over the moon with the crush complications and the summer holiday adventures, and she's now begging for the next books in the series. Perfect for reluctant readers or anyone who loves Wimpy Kid or Dork Diaries – highly recommend for 9-12 year olds!

My daughter finished the book in one go, she couldn’t put it down. The best part was to witness her little giggles throughout the book. We have purchased the whole series and she is currently reading book number 4! Highly recommend! Your child will love it!
