This unit is small and compact, but packs a punch. It can produce an arc length of up to 4 inches on high, and does play square wave music files through bluetooth from your phone. It's actually fun to watch and experiment with, despite how loud it can get. There are some accessories included for different output cofigurations and two neon bulbs. Customer service is great.Some observations:What happens when when you see lightning? You hear thunder - the discharge arcs on this device work the same way, it can get quite loud in normal (non-music mode) as it is a pulsed output and not continuous. Sorta like a string of firecrackers, you may want to consider earplugs.Tesla coils produce a good amount of electrical ozone, also known as "smog", which is a respiratory irritant and generally not good for you in large quantities. I recommend providing adequate ventilation when it's in operation.This unit will only play "square wave modulation" music, which is the same music that your old original 8-bit Nintendo game system produced back in the day. The link for this music in the instructions doesn't seem to work, contact the seller directly and she will send a .zip file. You can also find music files online, google "tesla coil music". And, there are music converters out there that convert midi files to square wave .wav files. Just remember that high notes or octaves produce longer arcs, low notes are smaller, and keep the melody as simple as possible for best results. (complex music sounds like static)Be sure to read and understand the safety warnings. You can touch the arcs in normal mode, but I do not recommend touching them directly or with a metal object in music mode as they are more intense, and may burn.All in all, very entertaining. Got this for my husband who is an electrician for Valentine's Day. He loves it. He walks by, turns it on and lights himself up.

My dad said he's been waiting 70 years to have his own Tesla coil. He was grinning ear-to-ear when he turned it on and it started sparking. The arc length is impressive and bright even with the lights on. We haven't tried the Blue-Tooth yet. Maybe one of the grandkids will make that happen. Would recommend.

The media could not be loaded. Awesome Tesla coil for the price! It was smaller than I expected, and does what it is supposed to do. It produces pretty large lightning bolts in normal mode, and they do get a bit smaller in music mode. The instructions had a link to a zip file with the music, but it has been removed so I had to email the seller for the file and got a repose the next morning. The music is pretty loud on the 11 o’clock position of the arc size knob, and the lightning bolt is visible even in daylight! 8 bit music also works, but it does sound pretty weird. I personally would recommend emailing the seller for the file. I don’t recommend touching the arcs as you would feel it, but it is definitely not as dangerous as it looks.

11 year old grandson and friends were amazed and loved it, so did most adults.The coil seems to be good quality and works well, seller helped get music mode setup by providing some sample square wave music files to use. Above and beyond what is typically expected.
