5/19 UPDATE highly reliable company
This is the third of this kind of leash that I have purchased. They all serve the purpose, however the other two stopped working almost immediately. I have high hopes for this one because of the extra swivels and fabric at the handle and at the end. The extra piece at the handle permits me to wrap the leash around my hand without slowly breaking down the wire that supports the lights. The leash conveniently recharges, is very bright when lit, and has the options of full solid light, or two speeds of blinkingI am using this for only one week. I will update as time passes.UPDATE: Purchased September 2017. It no longer works (April 2018 - lasted 8 months). There is a short in the internal wiring. Disappointed. UPDATE 5/19 - A very reliable company. Not only did they once again replace the leash, the owner (happened to be near my home) personally delivered a new one to my home. He additionally gave me collars for my dog and a second leash. We are still using the leash after dark when we walk at night. I feel safe that she is visible to cars on darker local streets. Thank you so much to the owner!NEW 5/14/2018 UPDATE: What a wonderful company! I contacted them and they apologized for the problem and since it has a lifetime warranty, they IMMEDIATELY sent me a new one. Thank you ! Certainly would purchase from such a reputable company again.NEW - 9/6/18 once again the leash has stopped working properly. Once again, I contacted the company and ONCE AGAIN Yurago stands out as an exceptional company that stands behind its product. They emailed me back within one day and are mailing a replacement. I love the product and am impressed with the seller!

LET THERE BE LIGHT!
The media could not be loaded. I have a 6 month old 5lb Yorkie and I ordered the purple color with XS collar and the 4 ft. leash. The collar is slightly adjustable but not by much. It fits her little neck with room to fit my fingers underneath. The leash is NOT heavy by any means and i find that the length is perfect for her little size.Ive attached a daylight pic, night pic and a video of the 3 different light options. (they are on both the leash AND the collar). SOLD SEPERATELY.I just got it yesterday so i cant speak to its durability but i love the USB feature they each have. They arent that flexible, the leash is kind of on the stiff side but the handle is padded and it appears very sturdy and well made. There is a metal loop on the collar but Ive attached the leash to a no pull harnest.Thank you Amazon! Another really cool problem solver.

Good quality, but lights only face downward and don't help visibility. Easy fix though!
This is a very well constructed leash. I love the padding around the handle. It's also nice to be able to recharge the leash and the different light settings. The power box/light settings is in a nice area that doesn't interfere with your grip on the leash.HOWEVER, I have a few things that I think could be fixed on this leash to make it better, which is why I knocked off a star. The lights are only on one side, and the leash "spins" because of the hardware that connects the lighted part of the leash to the "regular" non-lighted part of the leash. This means that the lighted part always spins to face DOWNWARDS, which doesn't really increase your visibility to other people, rather it just lights up the dog and the ground for you to see where you're walking. If the lights were on both sides of the leash or the hardware was more static and didn't "spin" the middle part of the leash, it would be a lot better. I fixed this by using zip-ties on the hardware to make it so the lights always face upwards.I should've thought about that, because that is obvious in the photos, but not something I realized until I used it myself. Prior to this leash, I had a Litey Leash that I swear a strong dog could snap (I actually had a dog pull apart the wiring, which is why I purchased this leash as a replacement), but I liked the Litey Leash because the leash was round, so you could see the lights from all angles.I'm a dog walker, so I use these leashes when I walk dogs at night on busy streets. People always stop me and ask where I got it!

Sturdy construction! Great for large dogs-- tiny dogs, not so much...
I was impressed with the sturdy construction of this leash when I received it. The 1" wide webbing is sturdy, the LED strip securely attached to it, and all the hardware seems high-quality, not the kind where the pot-metal clasp snaps or it quits swiveling well. The little charging cord for charging up the battery inserted well into the tiny battery pack on the leash. I had ordered the blue lights, and when it arrived, took my miniature pinscher out into the dark... lights work great! Highly visible!Alas, my 15-lb min-pin was not nearly as impressed. In fact, he refused to go for a walk! (whaaaa....?!?) He has had lighted tags before, and is not prone to being frightened of new things, so I don't think the problem was the lights. I'm certain the problem was how hefty the hardware is, and how heavy the leash was-- too much for a little guy. He kept looking back at the leash, and finally refused to walk. One-inch webbing is typical of large-dog leashes, and when you add the LED strip on top of that, as well as the metal buckle-hardware at the lower end between the LED strip segment and the dog hookup segment, it was just too much for him. If I had a large dog, or even a medium dog such as bull dog, cocker, or border collie, I don't think this would be an issue. I would have given this product 5 stars, but I had to take my dog's opinion into consideration.I was sad to return the leash, but my refund was issued promptly. I hope the manufacturer can come up with a small version that is just as high-quality!

Lovely lead, but a couple of design flaws
I'll be honest, the first reason I purchased this because it came in purple, and I had never seen a purple LED lead before. Also, I've worked my way through a lot of different LED leads on Amazon, and they rarely last a year. This one has good reviews from Amazon.com, so I was hopeful that this time, the investment would last a little longer. It comes in a very simple plastic bag with a sheet of instructions. Not that you need them if you've had one of these LED leads before. Plug it into the USB, charge it up for a few hours, press the button to turn on the lights, and click it again to cycle it to one of the different light flashing patterns. Fast flash, slow flash, constant on, or off. The lights are nice and bright, and very visible. It's an almost white light. The lead is in three parts. The handle, the main body of the lead which houses the LEDs, and the hook which clips on to your dog's collar or harness. These parts are connected by a metal swivel mechanism. I will get onto that later. The fabric of the lead is quite thick, and a sandwich of bulbs and material. The LEDs are clearly embedded in one part of this sandwich, but the backing fabric is thin enough for the light to be visible. The lead is comfortable in the hand. There is padding to the handle, and it was perfectly fine over a couple of miles. Now, on to the bits I didn't like. Please note that I used this lead to walk a beagle, which I class as a medium sized dog, and so some of these points may not be relevant if you're walking a very large or small dog.The main flaw is the fact that the light up part of the lead is separated from the handle and collar clip by two swivel hooks, which allow the LED strip to swivel around. I assume these are to help take some of the tension off the LED strip, which is (I suspect) why the other LED leads I've owned have failed. The dog pulls too hard on the lead, and the delicate wire between the bulbs is damaged and eventually fails. However, this leads to the laws of gravity taking over. The side of the LED strip with the bulbs embedded in it is heavier than the lightweight fabric backing strip. Because these swivel clips allow free movement of the LED strip, the heavier LED layer swings down to face the ground. Whatever I did, I could not get the LEDs to face upwards, and the strongest part of the lighting was directed pointlessly at the pavement. As I said, lights were visible through the thin backing fabric of the LED strip, but surely you'd want the lights pointing away from the pavement? I read a review from Amazon.com where one owner used cable ties to keep the LEDs facing upwards, but why should they have to? Massive design flaw. These swivel hooks do not add to the design. The other thing which I disliked about this (And like I said, this is probably only relevant if you have a similar sized dog to me) was that at six feet, the lead is wider than my local pavements, meaning my dog could quite merrily hop out into the road. If it wasn't for the swivels on the body of the lead, I could probably have wrapped the lead around my hand, but the swivels meant this was difficult, and I was afraid of damaging the wiring for the LED strip. Yes, this is in part my fault because I should have read the product description a little better and seen it was six feet, rather than the usual 4ft/120cm leads I usually get.In terms of quality, it compares well to other leads I have purchased in the past. Construction is excellent, and I did love the colour. However, I had to return it because the swivel hooks meant the lights were permanently facing the floor, which defeats the point of buying a lead to illuminate your dog and keep them safe.

Leading light! But only for 2 months
I’m impressed with this lead. It lights the way brilliantly, the leds are bright and I can run safely with the dog ahead of me. I have it on static lights, but it also flashes if you want to look like a mobile Christmas tree. It’s got a hidden talent too, excellent for finding the ‘dog waste’ in the grass.Great value for money and effective if you have the misfortune of having to drag yourself out of bed on a cold, dark morning.*Updated review* lead now doesn’t light up at all. So worked for 2 months only.
