Fit and Works Great for '06 Corolla
The last belt tensioner blew its oil all inside the engine compartment. After putting this one on and a new belt the new belt was slipping from the oil contamination all over the pulleys and wheels. None of the YT videos showed replacing one for a blown hydr. tensioner which needs the surfaces cleaned. So the new belt got lots of old hyd. oil on it during install. So I read up on this condition and used 50/50 dishwashing liquid/water to cover the belt and wheels both with engine off then with engine on. Really slathered the soap in there. Let is sit for 30mins then hosed it all off. First with engine off, then with engine running. Next morning when it was dry belt was clean and engine started right up, no slippage.

It fits Corolla 98-02
Easy enough installation the bottom bolt is the hardest to get out need a 17mm with a cheater pipe other than that easy install beats 100 bucks at autozone

Had to shim it
Seems like a good quality part but it was rubbing on the timing cover so I had to put a washer behind the tensioner to give it some room. Installed on a 2003 matrix xr with the 1zzfe engine so it should have fit.Update:Just tried to change the belt and the stud to loosen the tensioner broke off. Had to cut the belt off and use a higher quality part from a local store. Thankfully I didn't have my fingers under the belt when the tensioner broke.
