They were comfortable and that is when I realized they would solve my sleep mask problem. The eye shields are concave and do not touch the eye - only the rim around sits on your skin around the eye. I had to use tape to tape the shields on every night and then when removed in the morning the tape was not going to stick the next night and had to be thrown away. I realized this would get to be an expensive deal & the tape makes a mess of the eye shields. These eye shields come with thin elastic bands to put in the little holes of the eye shield and then I can put it around my ear. I cut a small piece of the elastic to bind the 2 eye shields together -- there are holes at the nose piece area to put the elastic and then I tied it together. I could have used the enclosed tape but did not want to. Used these shields last night and I hardly knew I had them on and slept all night. I hang the shields on my drawer knob during the day so they cannot get dirty or fall on the floor and maybe get stepped on by mistake. RECOMMEND to those who need them.
